Hey! That pic of Jim Rainey reminded me of this old pic from 2001:
.... another one, just like the other one (kinda, sorta):
Looks like everyone had a blast! 1313 |

This was a great ride, a real success to me. Carlee and I rode straight from Grifton to Carthage, 140 miles and 2 hours and 15 minutes. Carlee did great for such a long ride non-stop. Heck, we did good to match that distance between gas stops on the way to Daytona and back. Carlee and I rode a little over 300 miles Saturday and then 155 miles on Sunday. Here are a few shots Kristi, Carlee and I took. On the way out. Kristi bought Carlee Joe Rocket pants so now she has as much gear as me, and I could not be happier.
The Uly was loaded for the camping trip. In or on the Uly we had a two-person tent, two sleeping bag, two travel pillows, clothes for two for two days, Craftsman's motorcycle tool kit, snake light, camera, sun screen, bug spray, quart of oil and kick stand puck. The bike is also sporting its new Pirelli Diablo Stradas. The blue bag holds the tent polls and one of the sleeping bags is used as a backrest cushion and both are held in place by a Brag Net Kristi and I picked up on the Appalachian Adventure.
Okay time to load up and ride.
Up the driveway!

1313-was you platform testing? Kinda strange how much those 2 look alike! What is even stranger is how the tail section on that firebolt looks very much like a Uly rearend. JIM-on its way! I am also going to burn everyone's pictures onto a cd. I got Jinance, XB9ser, and mine all on the puter. Only ones I don't have is M2's. Anyone want a copy? |

Final validation of the Firebolt. Phoenix to Denver, with a stop at Mt. Evans where we brought out the P4's (V-Rod's) to do elevation testing. 7,000 ft. elevation at the base 14,000 ft. elevation at the peak. About a 30°F temp. difference from the base to the peak. No way to be comfortable at both places. Wasn't just Firebolt's. Mostly other Harley's. Looking at the pics last night I, too, was amazed the similarity to the Ulysses. 1313 |

Brankin - I didn't realize you were involved with XB development. Actually, I didn't think you had ever ridden one at all. |

100 MPH for an hour around Nissan's test track in Chandler, AZ. I think I still have some of the asphalt from the test track on my Sidi boots... On the trip from Phoenix to Denver we switched bikes throughout the trip, so I wasn't an a Firebolt all the time. But in Utah, much to the enjoyment of the H-D employee who set up the test trip I did a pretty constant 110 MPH through the (beautiful, curvy) Utah countryside with both of us on Firebolts. Needless to say once we got to our lunch stop we were about a half hour ahead of the rest of the group, but his smile lasted long through lunch. I think the pictures above were taken after lunch that day in a more Northern section of Utah, which shows I enjoyed the Firebolt more than the H-D's in the rest of the fleet. Personally I'm waiting for a REAL sport touring bike based off the XB12R. If the powers that be think that there is 'no market for sport tourers', eventually I will have to break down and build my own. 1313 |

At the first gas stop. You can see the three girls still in gear with U4euh showing the C3 symbol.
Before the batteries in the camera died Carlee took a shot of the beautiful view she could see from the back of the bike.
Here we were looking for good Uly roads and U4ueh lives on one.
The Camp site and crew.
We did say Parent-Child, not Baby. Well Rubberdown missed the details but shows up for the party with his new baby.
The best shot of the Bonfire I have. Jlnance silhouette in the fire.
At the end of the night, it was time to cuddle up with the baby.

We stopped to take a break and take a few shots of a nice sweeper:
Jinance Sqaure'n it up!
Twig following closely
XB9ser with both lights burning
Carlos isn't fraid of no curve! Meanwhile, back at the ranch,
The girls were having fun on the trampoline.
Got the fire started and everyone gathered as it was getting a bit chilly. But we didn't need to stand that close.
Jesse having fun with my 'other' kid, Nakita! |

The morning after the storm.
My boy Haylen wanting to hang with the fella's. When we were going to head out to breakfast, I noticed that something had gotten into my airbox and made a nest! You could see insulation through the grate on the lid. Well later that night I took it off to find this:
It was quickly apparent who had made it:
He/she had also tore up some wires I had going to the blue LED's in there.
Something that tickled me all weekend long ws TJ and the Nixon 'I'm am not a criminal' symbol.
As she and Jim rode off up the driveway, she stood up and gave the sign again. I don't know why it makes me laugh everytime I think about it. That is TJ's special C3jr sign. Mike Strong making sure the locals didn't mess with the bikes:
This is my favorite 'road' shot:
Does anyone else see the faces in all the fire photo's? |

I wonder what they were talking about! Some things are best left unknown. I'm going to mail the CD today. Hopefully you'll get it by tomorrow or the next day.
