Here's the question: Will a D&D can off of the full system fit onto the race header?...or are the connections different. Thanks for the input, Jack |

It should. The full system has an adapter between the muffler and the header pipes. remove the adapter and you have a fairly standard looking can. |

WAIT!!!! The can Buell race header slip-on, I believe is much longer than the full systems muffler. IIRC, the standard slip-on, and the Race header slip-on are the same can.. IF that is the case, the that muffler will not work on the full sustem..the pipe will be in the tire... I can go out an measure the full ssytem can in you need... Chase |

There she is...or uh was, can't get this darn pic to post, it's the right size and everything......? Anyway, any input I'd appreciate it. Got this can at an awesome price, I'll sand and repaint, but I need to know how to mount her...the can that is. Currently I have the stock exhaust with the "Y" hanger, I know I'll need an elbow (If they make one that'll do the job) or a different header...any suggestions would be great. You guys are awesome, thx. (Message edited by Crux on May 16, 2006) |

Holy crap I figured it out. I initally thought the race header would work, however I think there would be an issue with the rear mount...the full D&D exhaust brings the can back a good deal more. Maybe this isn't a good idea. I'm betting finding a used D&D exhaust for one of these is going to prove difficult. Suggestions? There is one major difference between the stock and the race header... On the stock header, the collector is in fron tof the motor..then there is an elbow with a 90* bend that goes to the muffler.. The race header, the collector is under the motor(the 90* bend is part of the header, still 2 pipes). then it goes straight to the muffler.. Chase |
