Actually my wheels are pretty shiny. I accidentally used a wheel cleaner that took the clearcoat off, so now when I wash the bike I scrub the wheels shiny with an SOS pad. I think they look pretty cool now. |

I think they look pretty cool now. I hope you are NOT using an SOS pad! Use Scotchbrite if you must. Steel Wool will speed up corrosion because steel and aluminum don't mix. They eat each other up. Seriously. Of course, many people refer to abrasive pads as "SOS" pads but steel and aluminum don't mix. NOT a rant, just a note from somebody who has to deal with this as part of his day job |

Yeah, you're right. It's a green nylon scrubbie. I usually call them greenie weenies, but the only people who know them by that name were most likely former military. |

Why would Buell put a $210 (MSRP) fan on instead of a right side scoop if it didn't do something? I'm keeping mine, I like to tell people "it's the turbo spooling up" when they ask. |

"OK guys, I gotta think that if the fairly bright crew at Buell Drive didn't put a right side scoop on it is for a good reason" Is this the same crew who gave us those mirrors that work so well? C'mon, face it, they screwed up with the fan and most of us just hate it. I got the scoop and the bike runs great, sounds, well, quiet when off. |

"OK guys, I gotta think that if the fairly bright crew at Buell Drive didn't put a right side scoop on it is for a good reason. Me; I would be very leary of messing with the cooling system." They didn't put a K & N filter in either, yet most of us are running K & N's and many other Mods that the cost constraints of a production motorcycle won't allow. Besides, I really don't think modifying the scoop is going to change the design parameters of an air cooled bike all that much. |

Is this the same crew who gave us those mirrors that work so well? If you take the mirrors off, the bike won't over heat. C'mon, face it, they screwed up with the fan and most of us just hate it. Define "most" Also, how did they screw up the fan? Please explain. I got the scoop and the bike runs great, sounds, well, quiet when off. Good for you! |

Take the knot out of your shorts, Glitch. Are you working for Buell? Face it, guys here hate the fan. If they didn't, these threads would die due to lack of interest. They don't. In fact, they are getting more frequent. When I say they screwed up with the fan, I mean by relying on it without help from a second scoop. Since I have had my second scoop, the fan will still run IF I am in a situation where air flow simply can't happen, ie, stopped in traffic etc. Then, the fan is GREAT to have. Glad they worked it in as a backup. Otherwise, I prefer to cool the cylinder with air flow. The bike likes it also. If you like the fan, good for you. The good news is that you will have plenty of time to listen to it. To each his own. Or not. |

Take the knot out of your shorts... Got your panties in a wad? Quit voting for your own posts. Are you working for Buell? Define working. Face it, guys here hate the fan. That means not Buell screwed anything up. Then, the fan is GREAT to have. I thought you said they screwed it up. I prefer to cool the cylinder with air flow. Good on ya! The bike likes it also. Mine doesn't say one way or the other. If you like the fan, good for you. It doesn't bother me. To each his own. You are correct sir! |

Quit voting for your own posts. Um...Glitch...I was the first vote on his post and gave him 5 stars. Someone else (I'm assuming you, but I am probably wrong) gave him the second vote of I guess 1 star to bring it down to a 3 star average post. |
