I want a plush seat and places to anchor hard bags for my XB12R and was looking at the Uly pix...probably an ugly and involved project, any comments on expense/do-ability from those who know about the differences? Thanks in advance!

I think this has been covered on another thread but I think the verdict was that it would require welding and cutting.
My friend and I were looking into doing that but there were too many differences in his 2004 XB12s and Uly tail.

OK found it and checked the ref to the talk with Eric. Bummer. After I got the XB12R, I simply could not believe there was no existing way, factory or aftermarket, to hang decent sized hard bags and trunk off it. Still stuck.

I swear I seen some small saddle bags that will fit the XB12R/S. They looked like the tail bag but went on both sides. I know I seen a pictures but can't remember where. I'll look and see what I come up with. They looked cool too if you can imagine that.

Check this out. All kinds of room. Not too pricy compared to some.

That's the exact bags I was talking about. I knew they would show up. I think they look good actually.

For plush seats, you could go with a corbin front seat, and either a custom or touring pillion.
Or just go with the custom front seat if you prefer. I'm happy with my corbin so far, and my son
has been pretty happy with the custom pillion. The seat cowl will not fit over the touring pillion.

And I highly reccomend getting the Corbin from Al at American Sport Bike
