This bike sat for almost two years. WHen driving at a constant throttle (such as 40mph in 3rd) it has a sputtering sound and it is missing slightly. |

I have replaced the spark plugs, ran fuel injector cleaner through the system, checked the battery. It still is missing at a constant throttle. If I accelerate hard it clears up very well. Any ideas anyone? |

I am looking at replacing the plug wires and coil. I want to go High Performance. What do any of you recommend? |

Have you tried to reset the AFV? (Adaptive Fuel Value)
Procedure is to ride between 3000 and 3500 rpm for a few miles at a constant speed. The ECM relearns the setup of the bike. This worked on my S3T once when I let the battery go down.

Had a similar problem a few years back and it lasted through a few tanks of gas until it dawned on me what had happened.
I tried everything you did and was about to give up and head to the dealer when it dawned on me that I may have water in the tank from either the gas station or from condensation. Injector cleaner didn't work but gas dryer (Heet) did.
Just a thought. YMMV |

I tried resetting the AFV again. This time I drove for about 30 miles in 4th gear and shut it off then drove the same back. It runs a lot better. Still has a slight miss but not that bad. I am still trying to figure it out though. I am on my second tank of fuel injector cleaner now. |

Took two tanks with that were significantly "OD'd" with gas dryer to clear my problem and that was after doing one tank with injector cleaner.
Just hoping it is something simple. Fortunately mine was and all it took was feeding the bike a different additive and logging some great miles. |

The fuel pump was just replaced and the tank emptied. I just finished the last tank of injector cleaner and it has improved dramatically but still has a very slight miss. I am going to try new plug wires and see if that helps. |

Well, that eliminates the water gremlins which were the cause of a similar situation in my X1.
Try the X1 Files for some additional ideas. It's the Reader's Digest Condensed Version of the BWB and another Buell site.

01' X1 misses at constant throttle
