What's up to everyone in AZ...I'm a Jersey kid who moved to San Diego in January..Well, it turns out I don't like it to much and I am moving to Chandler in about a week....I've got some friends out there but none that ride, at least none that ride Buells. I'm open to ride anywhere cuz everything will be new to me. If anyone wouldn't mind a new guy in there group then hit me up. Kyle |

Hey all, Checking in on you guys from Recruiters School at MCRD San Diego... Tough schedule, havn't even had time to go ride some of my favorite roads out here yet, BUT I WILL! Anyway, SD HD gets their RR next week. I asked em if I could sit on it and make vroom vroom noises and they said not only that but they'd push me around the lot on it while I did LOL! I was really surprised to see how many Buells they had on the floor. 4 ULYS too! They are running their screamin eagle V-rod drag bike at Qualcom this Friday, so I'm looking forward to that! Anyway, hope all is well with you all. I'll catch ya later after I find out where I'm going, hopefully Phx or Yuma. We'll see... |

Kobie I haven't heard from you in quite a while. Do you still want the track stands? Let me know. If not, maybe some one else can use them. There doing nobody any good just sitting in the garage. |

WOW! That's all I can say... SD HD ran their S-2 and V-rod drag bikes and had rice for dinner!!! Granted the ZX-12 grain had no drag bar but it was still impressive and sounded thunderous! Poor Reggie looked like he was being bucked from the bikes with every launch. He had the race by 10-12 ft with the launch at the line. Anyway, had a good time and found out that if I ever become independently wealthy, I'm buying a Screamin' Eagle V-ROD!!! |

Take the 191 for sure . Also, run Hwy 17 north to whatever road it is that takes you over to Wickenberg. Then take 89 into Prescott . There are a number of roads just west of Prescott that are very good, and one of them is EXCELLENT (The Spars). Keep following 89 into Jerome and you'll hit another one that's pretty good. The ride from Camp Verde to Hwy 60 is good... There are a LOT . |

I just moved to Tucson and my Buell failed emissions - hydrocarbons were triple the spec. It's a 2001 Cyclone with a V&H exhaust and carbon ham can air cleaner. I bought it used, so the stock CV carb was already rejetted but I don't know to what specs. The dyno showed that it was jetted properly for sea level and 65 degrees, neither of which apply around here! Any tips for reworking it to run cleaner? I'm assuming it's rich, but other suggestions (different plugs?) are welcome. As you can tell, I'm no expert on these matters. Thanks! |

Ok Zen try this change oil, clean air filter, install fresh plugs, swap low speed idle jet down one size, reset idle a little on the high side, run bike till fully warmed up and try again. |

Kobie, and Don, Are you guys going to go on the 191 ride? the AZ group is coming up Saturday, and spending the night in Show Low, and then heading back to Fenix. I'm heading out tomorrow morning, to Springerville, and spending the night. On Saturday morning, I'm doing the same route we did on the SpringFast, and Ridefest. Heading into New Mexico, down through Glenwood, NM, up past Daryl's marker, and then up Hwy 191 to Hannigan's, where we'll stop for a few cold ones, and then back to Springerville for the night. Heading back to New Mexico on Sunday... There is already a couple coming up from Fenix on Friday night to ride with us Saturday. It'd be good to see you guys if your able to head up the mountain. I guess I could scrounge up a bottle of Goldshlager if Kobie comes up, LOL. |

Damn I would REALLY like to but I have stuff to do Friday night, Saturday morning/afternoon and most of the day Sunday... I would really like to make it though trust me. I should start making more of an effort to plan things around rides instead of just hitting the ones I can... I suppose it's probably because my back yard is the spars so I get the itch taken care of 3-4 times a week at least... I think in a couple weeks I'll be taking a girl up to Hannigan's meadow though . |

Zen, My 01 m2(same mods as yours) passed hydrocarbons by 4 points. 1796 out of 1800 max. To get to that point I put new plugs in(Buell race plugs),cleaned the filter, turned the idle up to 1100-1200. I also have the breather rerouted, not in the air filter. Don't know if that helped or not. They definatly run a little rich with those mods. Keep working on it. |

Bart, Where are you staying Saturday night in Springerville? The Super 8 has rates of about $50 a night. TRYING like hell to make the ride. If I do go it will be "Ride up Sat. Come home Sun" Goldshlager? More like Red Bull and Yagermeister!!!!!! |

Kobie, we'll be staying at the same motel we stayed at last year in Springerville, for the ride fest. The Rode Way Inn, it's about the same price. Maybe that gal you and AL were all hot over will still be around waiting for ya! You may want to get ahold of Kelly, I think he is leaving REALLY early Saturday morning to meet us at 0900. Otherwise you'll be riding with the AZ crowd through Safford, etc... Hope to see ya along some part of the ride, take care! |

Well there ya have it...another chance to ride 191 falls by the wayside for me. If it were a week later I'd go for sure, but considering tomorrow is my 11th wedding anniversary, I'd better stay home and do something nice with my wife. Y'all have fun and ride safe! |

Thanks to suggestions from David and Bill, my M2 passed emissions. New plugs, cleaned and re-oiled filter, turned in the idle screw, and upped the idle to around 1200rpm. Hydrocarbons were 660 out of a max of 1800. Interestingly, CO went from 0.19 to 3.22, but that's still well under the 5.5 limit. Anyway, thanks again for the tips! |

Brian, I'll be thinking of you, wish you could make it. You'll just have to throw out a weekend sometime this summer and we'll just plan on it. We WILL work around YOUR schedule. How's that sound? In the meantime guys, I'm here in Springerville, at the RODE INN motel. Same place we stayed for the RideFest. Ya know, they sell beer here at the office? he he How cool is that? LOL Caught some rain just as we rode into town, but just overcast now. Looking forward to the Hwy tomorrow, Kobie, I hope u can make it,I'll PM u my phone # |

Wow, it's way too quiet over here, are you guys all hibernating for the summer? Here's something to cool you off from that hot Arizona sun, some pics from the SpringFast in Colorado this weekend...
Had a great time, sorry ya missed it. Would have been a great way to beat the heat!!! Brian, I'm still waiting for you to pick a weekend you can take 3 days off so we can go and do Hwy 191. |
