I just bought a 03 XB9R a few months back and was looking for any aftermarket cold or ram air style intake for it. They list this on Dennis Krik http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=H30641&store=Mai n&catId=209&productId=pH30641&leafCatId=20902&mmyId=9068 But on the forcewinder site they say that it wont fit. I guess i dont see how it will fit on the xb either but i was wondering if anyone has one on there firebolt and any pics would be great. Thanks |

kinda impossible since the EFI intake sits between the heads and frame. that is for the old tube frame Buells. welcome to the board. |

That's for a tube frame. There are aftermarket outer air box covers available from Trojanhorse, Hillbilly-Motors , and American Sport Bike to name a few, in carbon fiber or fiberglass |

Some desk jockey wrote that. Probably thinks a Buell is a Buell is a Buell. |

Honestly? How long have you been riding? A track school is the best way to get more out of your bike. Not a track day, or a license school, but a riding school. Beyond that? I recommend buying a good quality set of riding gear before spending more on the bike. For the bike. Cheap: remove the snorkel that goes through the frame. I would not put an aftermarket exhaust on the bike without either a race ecm or getting the stock ecm re-mapped with direct-link. For pipes, the cheapest are the special ops, the econo-drummer, the Buell "race" and the Jardine. Depending on what's most important to you, torque, top-end hp, or just volume will dictate which one is right for you. A "free" mod is cutting your airbox. if you remove your outer airbox (looks like the gas tank) there is a black cover there that clips on. if you drill holes everywhere but the oval where the air filter sits it will flow more air, but add intake noise. A "cheap" mod: remove the stock inner airbox cover and replace it with an 05+/xb12 inner airbox cover. You can identify them by the "dimple" over the throttle body. DaveS of Appleton H-D (in the sponsor section) can help you there 10% discount too. I hope this helps. I am not trying to insult you in any way. Just trying to give the best advice I know how to a new Buell rider. Welcome to the Badweb family. |
