I will not be in town for the parent/child ride. I will on a Boy Scout canoe trip with my son May 12-14. We do this a couple of times a year and is something not to be missed. I wish we could do both events but bad timing. |

U4euh -- sounds like you have it covered. Please e-mail me your address so we can send $$ to help with dinner and munchies. The kids ("old" and young) will have a great weekend. Thanks for taking this on and having everyone stay at your place. I think Carlos will take a tent for him and Carlee. Looks like good riding weather this weekend. Kristi |

Wish I could do it with my boys, but I have trips to Texas, Charlotte, and maybe Tuscaloosa, AL to do this summer. I have interviews and tests. I will have to take medical physicals, physical fitness tests, polygraph tests, and oral interview boards, all part of the application process for the police force in these areas. Right now, I think we might be leaning towards Farmers Branch, TX, which is basically Dallas. The next would probably be Tuscaloosa, then Charlotte. I have already taken the tests for Charlotte and Farmers Branch and now they want me to interview, etc... So, my riding with the group might be somewhat limited this summer. Ya'll have fun and I'll try to get together with ya'll when I can. |

Dang Mike, was hoping that the Harley rider would make the cops ignore us. Kristi, how old is Carlee? I don't believe that you need to send money. Just send some with Carlos so we can stop by store to buy what everyone wants to drink. SM- Understand about the interviewing thing. If it happens that you get to be free, please make a point to come. Jinance-when you went to your grandmother's house? Sounds like my kinda lady! And I got the new Tourist Trophy game that has a CityX and 2 versions of Firebolts to race around on. |

Jinance-when you went to your grandmother's house? It was a different world. I grew up in Wilmington, which was a small town at the time, but definitly a city. My Grandmother lived in Galivants Ferry, SC on a little farm (100 acres?). She would burn the trash in the back yard, which is a thrill in itself when you are from the city. Occasionally, she would burn off the garden. That was about 200 ft square of flames. Thats orgasmic to a little boy. I think they stopped doing that when my uncle almost torched the chicken house by accident. One of my more vivid memories was burning the garden off and finding a dried up tabacco stalk. It was hallow. I stuck it n the fire and pulled it out with flames on the end. I knew you smoked tabacco, so I put the other end in my mouth and sucked as hard as I could. I thought I was going to die. Perhaps thats why I never took up smoking. |

It's Almost Time Less than 4 days to go! The weather looks good. Guess it's time to make some plans. I know Carlos, Jim R, and myself are going. I hope some other people are comming as well. Post and let us know if you are. The more the merrier. Rebecca and my son are going to follow us in the car. We are meeting at the Summit at 11:00 (ish). There is a Hardees in Carthage, NC where 501 and 27 split. Why don't those of us comming from the east meet there at 10:00 and ride in together. Carlos, I think you're planning to ride directly from Grifton, but you're welcome to crash here on Friday night if you want. Jim R, Do I need to bring anything other than a sleeping bag? |

Jim N, We are planning on going but our plans are changing by the minute. I had a blow out on the Uly. I somehow cut the sidewall of the Uly's back tire last night. Luckily the tire was the old back tire so a new one is on the way. The problem is it still has not arrived. The last tire came in a few days, it has been almost a week now and still no tire. If it does not make it in time, we will be riding the M2. This will mean I do not have the storage capacity I expected so I will not be able to bring the tent. So Jim R. any problem with just sleeping bags? That is if I can fit two bags in the Ventura bag. As far as for when we are leaving, I want Webe to join me but he says he has a breakfast on Saturday morning at 8am. That will put us in the Carthage area around 11am. I have to check with Webe to make sure he is going and how many. We talked about just him and a child, or maybe both bikes and the entire family of four. I will have to see. At lunch tomorrow I will make final plans for Saturday |

Xb9ser - join the party! Sounds like it's really coming together. Jim R & Jim N have mapped out a ride and the events for the day. We will get a final head count and let Jim R know since everyone is heading to his house for the evening! Maybe I'll meet you on another adventure. My husband (M2nc) and daughter will be going this weekend. |

M2, XB9ser, and anyone else- not a problem. I'll be checking here for updates. So far I have Twig, M2nc +1, Jinance +1(is Rebeeca and child #2 coming to BBQ and spend night?), XB9ser, and maybe WEBE ! Sounds like a good size group. I might have another buddy show on a Mean Streak also. I have plenty of floor space, in the house and on the 2 decks. Bring what you want, I am taking care of dinner saturday evening. I figured getting up on Sunday and head to one of the local breakfast joints(really cheap, really good!) Are you all up for an early ride sunday also? |

I invited Malcolm, I think he is planning on comming as well. M2NC - Were you on the bike when it blew out? I think Rebecca & Jesse are comming. Jesse is sick, so won't know till tomorrow. But if he does, I can throw some extra blankets in the car Carlos. |

Jim R - thanks! Please let us contribute for dinner since you're taking care of everything. As for early risers, Carlee can be convinced when it comes to riding! Jim N - Yes, Carlos was on the bike when it blew. My understanding is that it started handling funny and then he realized that he had a flat. Luckily enough a big wrecker was behind him and stopped and filled the tire with air. Down the road they go, along with the new air. Filled it a second time and made it to a place that was open and flat so I could get to him. Good thing I know how to drive that truck and trailer!! Larry -- sorry to hear Aaron is not up for the ride. Better to be sorry at home than out on the bike and have a problem or concern. Sounds like plenty of people are coming. We're still hoping for a tire for the Uly. If it doesn't come, then Jim N we'll take you up on your offer for blankets, etc. |
