Just a quick ?... Got a new 02 sensor to install just wondering IF one has to put any anti seize , lock tight etc.etc. on it and I guess if so it wd. have to be 02 safe??? Thanks?? | ||

Per xb12x manual: Install O2 sensor 4-101 1. Apply Loctite Anti-Seize Lubricant to the threads of the sensor. Make sure anti-seize is marked as safe for use with O2 sensors. 2. 40-45 ft.-lbs. (sounds a little tight to me) *My book indicates a Snap-on Part no. YA8875 to remove O2 sensor from the exhaust header. (No idea what it is though.) | ||

that Snap-On part looks something like this.. .  FYI, you can get a similar tool as the Snap-On part number above from most auto parts places. I picked one up from Advance Auto for like $11. Worked like a charm. I would recommend the offset style O2 wrench vs. the slotted socket type due to space but i think some have been successful with both. Many universal O2 sensors come with the anti-sieze on the threads from the factory. I can't speak for the OEM Buell part. | ||

the Bosch equivalent (# 12014) comes with anti-seize on the threads.. . | ||

Yep, I've done this job myself and put in the bosch sensor. I used a 'crows foot' to remove the old one. Piece o cake job but just a little time consuming. | ||

I went to sears and got a 22mm crows foot. That worked pretty well with leverage. | ||

Craftsman makes a real short 7/8 in 12 point box end wrench that works just fine. Visit your Sears hardware store and save some $$ |
