i have a couple of question actually...i UTFS but couldn't find anything. anyway. i've been hearing a buzzing noise when i use the front break, is that normal? also, there's a lot of play in the front break lever, anyone know how to adjust that? thanks in advance. | ||

The buzz is normal... I don't know about the "play". Do you mean up/down? A mushy feeling? The fact that you can push the lever out a ways but it returns? You have to pull it a long ways to get any brakes? (Message edited by M1Combat on July 28, 2006) | ||

My guess, if the lever travels too far before front brake engages, is that you need to bleed your front brake. Should firm things right up. Henrik | ||

Buzzing you say.......any chance there is a set of EBC-HH pads on there?? They would be the culprit. Lots of travel is either the product of worn out brakes pads, deposits on the calliper pistons or air in the system. One thing I've found useful to extend the firm feel of new pads well into their life is to remove the wheel, remove the pads, clean with brake cleaner, push the pad and pistons right in and replace the wheel. This usually bring the brakes back to the #4 notch on the lever reach adjustment. | ||

I read somewhere in here that "brake cleaner" is bad on the piston seals. Soap and water was the way to go IIRC. Simple Green, or regular dish soap will work. |
