I'm near the 710/91 - was going to suggest the Chevron Gas station on the N/W corner of Cherry and Artesia - from there we can jump straight on the the 91 What do you guys think? Cheers -Jack |

Do you San Diegans want to meet in Temecula or ride all the way to Hells Kitchen? (its in the Ortegas if you havent been there). Eric what time do you think you and the O.C. guys will be in Temecula, and where would be a good place to stop and re-group there? Maybe like at Quaid, since it is right there by Hwy 79... I'll be sans Leah but thats okay. |

Yeah, the more I think about it that seems right. If you guys leave Knowlwoods at roughly 8:00, then I figure to be on the safe side all the more southern riders can meet at Quaid HD in Temecula at around 9:15. That is probably early, but it sounds like there will be some new guys and it will give us a chance to shoot the breeze for a bit before we saddle up. My cell phone number is 714 222 3108, anyone planning to meet in Temecula you might want to write that down just in case. When you get to Quaids look for the really good looking guy with long reddish hair on a blue tube frame Buell, thats me. I'll probably be one of the few (if not only) people there without fringed chaps and a neat slogan on my beanie helmet. Eric if you think my times are wrong (too early or too late) please just correct me, because I'm not sure of the route your taking. Are you going to teach me how to hold a camera so I can get a picture of you riding that sexy Italian? I'll log back on to the Badweb as soon as I get home tomorrow, I'm going to bed now, goodnight. |

Perfect. Chevron at Cherry and Artesia. I'm rethinking my suggested start time though. About 7:30 should be plenty early enough to get to Knowlwoods and time to warm out hands once we're there. (What do you guys you think, twenty minutes travel time?) |

That'll work. Cindy and I will probably be there more around 7:15-ish to top up with gas - ready to hit the road by 7:30 Looks like it's gonna be a good day. Cheers -Jack |

reminder: Madduck arrives in LA tonight on the red eye, and (finally!) takes delivery of his Buell Ulysses tomorrow (Thursday) morning at Bartels H-D/Buell in Marina del Rey. i'll be arriving at Bartels by about 08:30, along with Unibear and Scott Page, and then we'll spend the day escorting Madduck up the coast to Ojai and inland on 33, to end up here at the ThunderDome for burgers, beer and b.s. tomorrow evening. Friday we'll launch early and head east to Death Valley and beyond. me 'n D will cut him loose in Tecopa, CA, and u-turn our bad selves back to Ferrisville. Madduck lives in Minnesota, and this should be a GREAT cross-country journey for him. anyway, y'all are invited to join in if you can while Madduck is here. the offer includes free food and lodging here at the 'Dome on Thursday and/or Friday night/s. ride to lean, FB&D |

Anybody interested in doing the Sport Rider 1000 on July 8-9? I just found out about it from another forum. 1000 miles in 24 hours starting and finishing in Lancaster, 99.5% interstate free. They claim 10,000 corners, Iron Butt Association sanctioned event. Sounds like a good opportunity to discover some cool roads. Maybe we could get a team Buell going. Here is the website with more info. http://www.sportbikeadventures.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/ |

Plans are evolving!!!!We now have a target time and location to have the SCAB meeting and Raffle! Along with this we will go over the procedures to get these pictures safely and sample the fare.Target time is 11:00 AM at the Hideout.Joanne and Zack of American Sport Bike will be arriving with the equipment and Raffle Prizes.Normal meeting protocols will be observed , 50/50 will occur and foods WILL be consumed..... At the adjournment of the meeting we will head off to the Mount and have some fun! Sandblast will be leading a ride from his direction(Moreno Valley) , Reindog from San Marcos and I from Knowlwoods. meeting at Knowlwoods at 8:00AM...Stands up at 8:15.Possible stop at Hells Kitchen depending on Time!!However you probably should grab a little something at Knowlwoods or Starbucks just in case!...See ya there! ---- This is Reindog's version of the Truth. The San Diego plan is a bit different. You can get one hour extra of partying Saturday night because it will be kickstands up at 9AM at Biggs in San Marcos. We will take Highland Valley Road up to Ramona and stop at the Chevron station in Ramona to top of our tanks as well as pick up riders who want to come up directly from San Diego without having to go to San Marcos. We will leave the Ramona Chevron (which is on 78 on the main street) around 10:15, head out to Santa Ysabel and then bomb Mesa Grande to drop into the Hideout for the 11AM meeting. Sandblast....We need to know..... |

SCAB meeting? ... odd month, should be a SoCal BRAG meeting, right? Oh well, I'm confused too. Maybe we should make both group's meeting days on alternating first Sundays? That should take the cornfusion out of it. Whatever, see y'all at the Hideout. |

OK It looks like you guys have the San Diego guys that were thinking about meeting in Temecula covered, so I (and anyone else who wants to meet me) will leave from Hemet, go a great back way I know to Temecula, grab any Temecula guys at Quaid HD, then scoot to the Hideout. Only problem is I dont know where the Hideout is so I cant estimate a time! Eric (or someone) please call me 714 222 3108! The only reference I could find in a search is this : www.gridskipper.com/travel/los-angeles/ la-letter-the-hideout-bar-135463.php - 52k - and I hope to god thats not the place. So I will be at the Chevron at State and Stetson in Hemet, at a time yet to be determined, then @ Quaid HD aprox. one hour later, and from there to the Hideout. Will post times asap. Please call me at above posted number if you plan on meeting us on our little leg. It will be mostly all twisty roads. (Message edited by sandblast on May 04, 2006) |

I think I found the hideout, on 76, past south grade road? If that is the case lets leave From Hemet, at the Chevron on State and Stetson, stands up @ 8:15. That will put us @ QUaid in Temecula at about 9:15. From there down Pala (Pechanga Pkwy now) to 76, and on to the hide out. Might get there a little early, but better that than late. Any one meeting in Hemet or Temecula, it would be a great idea to call me @ 714 222 3108 so we know you'll be there. |

Eric meant BRAG, not SCAB, though the distinctions are a bit blurry given that it's all the same folks. This is an official BRAG event, so Tom is bringing the release forms and mirror ties. Please everyone fill one out. Shawn, The hideout is on 76, about a mile or so west of where it hits 79, on the south side of the road. It's set back off the road on a side street, but there is nothing else anywhere near it so you can't miss it. You guys have fun. Wish I could be there, but exhaust pipes await.... Al |

John, You're down in San Diego, you might want to be at Biggs San Marcos where Reindog said to meet instead of Quaids. Your choice, but read above, it would be closer for you. Tom's home phone is 760-943-9646 if you want to call him about the details to meet at Biggs San Marcos. I'm on the ground in Waterloo, connected in my hotel room. Kevin is at Craig,s house, Blake is somewhere between Texas and Iowa, Terry got stuck in Chicago, couldn't get a flight on standby. He's rented a car and is en route here now. XB muffler tests start tomorrow. |

Ok now I am a bit confused also. It will be one of two places for me now. Either Quaids in Temecula or Biggs San Marcos. Can someone tell me which is a better ride from those two places to our destination at the Hideout? Which ever is a more fun ride is where I am going to meet. It's not much of a difference of distance to me. Biggs is about 20 miles closer so no biggie for me. Anyway hopefully before tomorrow someone will chime in and let me know which is the better ride. If not I will be at one of the two locations. In case anyone needs my cell it is 910 330 7551. I jotted down Shawn's number just in case I run into issue's on my way and I am running late or something along those lines. John |

Yohinan, if Biggs is 20 miles closer I would go with that, most of my fun roads will be between Hemet and Temecula. From Temecula it's not bad at all but you may have more fun going Reindoggies way... |

Ok then. It's settled. My new plan is to head to Biggs then. I will try to get there by like 830 or so just so I can gas up. It will be good to meet everyone tomorrow. |

11 hours and 297 miles later.... I'll keep this short cause it's late and I'm really tired, but today really was a big day out. Details will follow I'm sure, but just to be clear, everybody made it home safely... A few more pictures posted here Cheers -Jack |

Rhino, I get a "website not responding" message on that link. Thanks EricB, Joanne and her helper Tom for putting together a great day. Sorry I had to take off before the offical end. Glad everyone made it home safely. That drive back to LA from Palamar just gets worse and worse. However, I discovered a new route that really saved a lot of time and was safer...take the 215 to the 91 to the 71 (now freeway all the way with HOV lane) to the 60. The 91 was a parking lot right from the start. The 71 had little traffic and no one using the HOV lane I made great time! |

Well the following day is not at all bad as I thought it would be. I took a motrin (800mg) prior to going to bed last night and I am perfectly fine this am. No pain like I originally had thought I would have the next day. Odd I say, but I am not complaining. Anyway, I really dont know how to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to all those that obviously went out of their way to help out. Everything from helping figure out how to get the bike off the mountain due to the tow truck issues, all the way to getting it unloaded back at American Sport Bike. Additionally, my wife was not too happy (as should be expected) and JoAnn not only helped with everything else but then went out of her way to drive me all the way home. I really hope that I can over volunteer or something at the next few BRAG or non BRAG events that we all show up for. I am really at a loss of words to convey the appreciation that I have for all of you guys and gals. Again THANK YOU for all the help and support. John |
