Would a XB9R fit in this class? ULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT SUPERBIKE (Novice, Amateur & Expert Divisions) Single cylinder, unlimited displacement, unlimited frame Two stroke, liquid cooled, up to 375cc Two stroke, air cooled, unlimited displacement Twin cylinder, air cooled, non-desmodromic valves up to 900cc Twin cylinder, air cooled, desmodromic valves, up to 805cc Twin cylinder, liquid cooled, pre-1999 model year, up to 700cc Three cylinder, air cooled, non-fuel injected, up to 900cc Four cylinder, liquid cooled, pre-1987 model year, up to 570cc Four cylinder, liquid cooled, 1987 to 1992 model year, up to 500cc Four cylinder, air cooled, up to 750cc Harley-Davidson Sportsters of unlimited displacement The 9R is slightly larger then 900cc, right? Would it be considered a HD Sportster (figured I would take a shot)? |

Boy that's a screwed up set of rules! An XB9 at 984cc is not legal, but an 800cc desmo is, and a 1600cc Sportster is? |

No, but it slots into lightweight superbike just fine... Up to 1210cc there. I'm wondering how competitive a shorter stroke XB9 would be in that ULW class though? You could rev the crap out of it... |

yup, agree with anthony, your 9R is out of range for ultra lightweight, but is good for lightweight (in CCS). D |

I had been racing MW Sportsman which became Ultra Light Superbike. I bought my XB9R to run in that class for the 2005 as per the 2004 CCS rule book, it allowed up to 1050 pushrod aircooled. When the 2005 rule book came out the XB9's were banned. There is no real competitive classes for a stock or mildly modded XB9R, all LW classes allow up to 1210. LW Super Sport is pretty fun and the XB9 turns faster and is just a tick faster then the SV650's. It comes down to rider. Its ashame cause ULWSB with the 800 ducs is a real good pair up for the 9's. |
