Just wondering if anyone had tried the Memphis Shades windscreens for the 'bolts. In particular the gradient color cockpit series. Will they eliminate the dreaded double-bubble gage burn? Thanks |

The "double-bubble" aftermarket windscreen has a tendency to focus sunlight in such a way that it will melt the gauges on a Firebolt dash. |

I think the double bubble issue is only with the clear. I have the dark smoke double bubble and haven't had any problems on mine. I did see those Memphis ones. They look nice enough. |

The smoked ones do it. I have the the burnt dash cluster to prove it. It happens with the bike pointed with its tail to the sun. I simply throw my gloves on top of the dash cluster when I park it. It doesn't get hot enough to burn anything else. |

Weird. I've had mine for about a year now. Always park with the rear of the bike facing the sun and haven't had any problems......yet. Is yours the smoke or the dark smoke? |

Dark smoke on mine. Search the archives and you'll probably find a couple of posts about it. When it burned my dash, I emailed Zero Gravity and they acknowledged a melting problem with their Double Bubble screens. The have reports of it happening with their DB for other bike models, too. One post here comments about it happening to his RC51. Some folks never experience it. It happens. |

Dark smoke here and I have melted gages. Don't park your bike facing west over night. It happens as the sun rises behind the bike. |
