Ain't this a whippin'? Some guy from Florida starting a Kentucky Buell Riders Group. Ain't this another whippin'? This guy from Kentucky is a Lakeland, FL BRAG member! Anyway, I'm in Frankfort, KY, and have an S2 currently running, and an S1 that I am converting from a racebike to a street rod. I have known the guy from FL for several years, and he isn't a bad dude, as evidenced by him starting a Buell riding group here. I have been trying to start such a group myself for years, but there hasn't been enough Buells in one place to make it work...yet. We will try again. I am a pretty far piece from Rabbit Hash...which is just down the road from Big Bone Lick State Park, but not far from Needmore and Beaver Lick...my favorite places in the world. We have all kinds of strange sounding places but some pretty nice roads going to them. Think how they might have come up with Hell's Half Acre. What do you think they like to do in Pleasureville? I am going to ride from Frankfort to far eastern WV (near MD) May 26 thru 31, if anybody thinks that they might like to go. That is the weekend for ASRA/CCS racing at Summit Point raceway. Drop me a line if you are interested in this ride or one of your own. Being an old retired guy, I can swing impulse trips easier than most. jimidan |

Hey, I live in Mt. Vernon, south central part of state. One local guy with a XB12R but don't see any other Buells around much. Lots of great country roads around here and some good guys who ride sport bikes that are usually good to go. This is my first post although been on Badweb for a long time. |

Looks like we Buellers are still pretty scattered. Will I be forever sentenced to either riding alone, or with white punks on dope, or bruthahs who ride around with wheelie bars? Jimidan (Message edited by jimidan on May 05, 2006) |

There are BUELL Dealers in LEXINGTON, LOUISVILLE, PIKEVILLE, PRESTONSBURG, and BOWLING GREEN ... THEY MUST BE SELLING BUELLS ??? |

They are selling them, but I figure that it takes a certain type of person to ride a buell, therefore I figure that they must be still scared or just learning in the back parking lots of the state. If any one in the area ever wants to ride; drop me a line.... I leave for Iraq in July so I will be on mine until then.. |

I had one parked at the Super 8 motel for a night a couple years ago, on a rained out trip to deals gap... We got as far as Corbin. I dated a woman from Corbin while I was in college. A very nice little town. |

Mark, There's a couple of Buells in they Keavy area. Look for Epierce and his wife -- he doesn't post much. I ran in to them in Statesville NC, couple of years ago, when they were doing business with BuckinFubba. G2 |

Hi Bill Deals gap is on my to do list. Have had my motorcycle license for only on year and am really enjoying the privilege. You know what they say about the weather around here. If you don't like it just wait 5 minutes. Hi Greg There is a guy I work with at the railroad who says his relatives, a couple both ride Buells I'll have to check if this is them. I see your from NC, we have a bike trip planned to SC Myrtle Beach this weekend for bike week. Looks bad for rain, we'll see. |

Mark, I'd say you'll get wet somewhere along the way -- maybe the whole way :-) Take care,,,, I got a bunch of family in your area -- one of them works on the railroad too -- all around London and Keavy. G2 |

If you see June Johnson, tell her one of her daughters old boyfriends (Bill) said hello! She won't hit you or anything We were riding at night, through the middle of nowhere between Lexington and Corbin, in pouring rain and a terrible thunderstorm, over grooved pavement in a construction zone. Every time the lightning struck agian I would think "why, again, am I doing this?". We got to our planned stop in Corbin (the second exit super 8 motel as I recall... a dive, but a friendly one... and crashed. The next morning we got up, watched the weather channel, and saw nothing but rain forecast for the next 3 days we planned on visiting the gap, so we bailed. Thats when, on the trip home and soaking wet, you realize that every fast food restaruant on the planet is cooled to approximately 22 degrees F. I almost died of exposure at a Pizza Hut! It was a fun adventure though, and broke me of any fear I have about riding in any kind of weather. Other cars being stupid is a factor, and visibility is a factor, but ulitmately bikes and riders do really well if they want to. It was fun smiling at people as we passed them on the interstate as well, them in cars and us on our naked bikes, in a torrential downpour. |

..What do you think they like to do in Pleasureville?.. I dunno, ride to the Dairy Queen in Eminence? Or maybe the gas station in Bagdad.. (I'm not making this up) I'm just south of Shelbyville and have a much under-utilized X1. Glad to hear that there are other Buells in KY. A salesman in Bowling Green told me that they are dropping their Buell franchise. Maybe Buell told them to hit the road- who knows. It's a lifestyle shop anyway. |

Watch for deer in Kentucky. We were on our Relay for Life fund raiser poker run when a friend slams a deer at 50mph. This was just 2 bikes in front of me. The deer just came from no where and jumped in front of him. He is ok other than road rash, it was one heck of a crash. Seems every year we are seeing more deer around the Corbin area. Just be careful where ever you are. Mark |
