I have a city-x and want to increase the amount of light from the headlights . In several threads people have suggested the hid bulbs, thats cool but i want to change the look of the front end and the firebolt headlights look way cool. Long story short , if i fab up a mounting bracket can i use the stock firebolt lights without altering my wiring harness, do they use the same connections? The other thing is if I want to use more than 2 lights like say 4 in a kind of zx14 arrangement does anyone have an idea of how to make 2 lights the low beams and all 4 the high beams .im sure someone else has done this and im just looking for advise and or precautions before i spend 48 dollars a headlight from harley . thanks later |

I just converted my S to an R this weekend. While I swapped the wiring harness out with an R harness, the connections appeared to be identical between the S and R headlights. I can say for sure if they are wired the same. How well can you follow a schematic form the service manual? I can send you the elecrtical section via email. |

Rewired my '04 XB 12 S to use H-4 bulbs, where BOTH lights come on for low AND high beam. Very easy, but required some machining of the H-4 bulb bases. I've read some threads about the headlight shells melting, so I'll have to see how this goes.

Maybe I am missing something but why not leave the the high beams on ALL of the time? That is what I do . . . |

I think he means because they are dual filament bulbs both lights are wired to work as both low and high beams instead of the "your headlight is out" gig. |

Yes, Thanks again Brian. Now they work the way headlights are supposed to work, instead of like a Honda! |
