I never served Jerry... I just have a healthy dose of respect for those that did and do. There are very few things that I regret in my life. One of them is not joining the Marines. In case you were wondering... The reason I don't do it now is because they would ask me what I can do, then they would point me to another pile of busted computers and and tell me to fix them . They wouldn't pay me anywhere near what I make now... In any case... In Memory of over 58,044 Brothers who never returned. Viet-Nam 62-75. For those who fight for it... freedom has a flavor the protected will never know. |

Arizona boys, Ferris sent me. I'm gonna take a May trip from Portland to Green Valley, AZ and was looking for suggestions for Must Ride roads down your way. Figuring on enterning AZ from St George, UT. On the way home, I'm planning on riding the NV/CA border, then cutting over to the coast somewhere. Ideas? |

Hey Shotgun, From where your coming into the state, take Hwy 389 through Fredonia until it connects to hwy 89, then head south to Hwy 160, go east on 160 until you come to Hwy 264. This will take you through the Indian reservation and the southern part of Monument Valley. Real pretty sunrise and sunsets here. After you go through Polacca, head south on Hwy 77 to Holbrook, then Hwy 180 to Concho, and then Show Low. follow US 60 East to Eagar and take Hwy 191 to Alpine. Continue south on Hwy 191 until you get to Gutherie and then head west towards Safford on Hwy 78. In Safford you connect with Hwy 70 follow this on into Globe. Just before Globe, head south on Hwy77. This will take you the back way into Tucson. You'll end up in the north part of town in Oro Valley.

Muchas gracias, senor Bartimos. Now, from there over to where Ferris can steer me north, what do you suggest? I'll probably avoid Vegas, though a night at the new Hooters Casino wouldn't be so bad. |

Oh yeah, if I wanted to see the road outside of Tuscon that Augustus Busch Jr IV ("Quatro", now President of Anheiser Busch Brewing Company) drove off in his new Corvette back a few years ago killing the young waitress who was riding with him (and then got off on all charges because the DNA evidence got "lost" at the hospital) which road is that? I'd like to pay tribute. To her. Not to him. |

Shotgun, not sure what route to suggest to get you over to Ferris' neck of the woods. As for that road in Tucson, I believe it was the road to Mt Lemmon, Catalina Hwy. Just take KOLB road north, you can't miss it! Ferris, nice trip through the snowcountry. I liked the pics, LOL. Brings back memories of my younger years. hi,everyone!i was thinking about going up to prescott and riding the spars a few times and then depending on my mood,i'll either do the skull valley loop or cross I-17 and and ride to payson then home.for times sake i'm going to take 17 up to prescott.for me this ride is going to be a "getting back in the saddle" type of ride,so i'm not going to ride at a real fast pace.this will the first ride since my accident.so,if anyone is interested let me know.oh,if i go i'll plan on leaving at 9 because i am not a morning person.if there's traffic i'll just deal with it. I'd love to James... but I have to swap tires, header and muffler this weekend (If my tire tool comes in...). If I get that all done sometime early enough and you're still in town I'd go, but I doubt it. |

Of course you can. I still live in the same place. You know the Woody's at the end of the Spars? Start there and head towards the spars and on the fourth turn (A left) you'll hang a right onto Canyon Dr. Follow that all the way to Lookout Rd (about 1/8 mile after the wash) and hang a left. I'm at 944. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=1000+Lookout+Dr,+Prescott,+AZ+86303&ll=3 4.525121,-112.484336&spn=0.013011,0.022702 I'll almost certainly be out front swapping wheels or my header... Cell is nine, two, eight, four, two,oh,nine, three,oh,three |

Thanks but ... I ordered one from Dave and paid for three day delivery with UPS. It made it to Phoenix, but was mis-routed to Massachussettes... It was then put on an effing TRUCK back to phoenix... I called them this morning and bitched about that and that I'm nearly on chords. They didn't seem to care very much. Of course, that means I can't swap my effing tires this weekend (unless it somehow shows up tomorrow) and I'll need to ride another frickin' week with my old tires. They're getting to the point that it's a little difficult to not slide the rear tire around. Anyway... /RANT off... I didn't know you had one and at this point, I don't trust my tires far enough to head down there and pick it up from you... Oh well. |

So i rode over to Mayer HD and bought one from the 12S they had on the floor... Metzeler M3's rock . Stable everywhere and plenty of grip. I touched the peg scraper on a bump on accident. I've started riding with the balls of me feet on the peg instead of my heel so I stop scraping the front outside edge of my boots off. Now the peg touches... Only once and just on a bump though so it's not ground down at all. Surprised me though... I didn't realize I was going that fast. I tried them at 38/38 at first and that was too stiff of course. I set them at 32-34 and that seems much better. I may drop them another two pounds when I'm having fun. James... Did you put my axles in? Just curious. When I got home from having the rubber swapped I noticed that my axles were installed but not screwed in. I sat there for a minute trying to figure out how that could have happened and then my room mate told me that he "heard a motorcycle a while ago..." In any case, if it was you, sorry I missed you. |

Where's the best place down south to bring my bike for a TPS reset? Anyone down there have the VDSTS? If not, which dealership? I've been given the cold shoulder by the parts and sales guys up here one too many times. 'em. The service dept. was good until Mike left, now they're all assholes. Thanks in advance. |

LOL . I do all my work except for those little things I can't do... Like re-setting my TPS... So... Now I can ride down to "wherever HD/B" and get it done, or I can buy a direclink from Al... Decisions, decisions... |

Don, Floyd, the service manager at Arrowhead will do ya right, he always treated me well. I know some folks went to Hacienda in Snottsdale, I had a bad experience there with my blue S2, fried my rear brakes, ended up taking them to the BBB to get the problem resolved, they ended up paying me. Chandler sounds like they are going the extra mile now. I also had a bad experience with them back in '03 with my red S2. They we in the little industrial park back then, and not in the new Stealership. they had scarred my PM wheels, when I had new tires mounted, and at first refused to replace them. The service manager finally came around and they replaced both rims, but it took about 3 months of bitching. Still, they did come through in the end. don't know about Chosa's, I hear they dropped Buell.

Chosa's is no longer there, its under new ownership. buy the direclinks from Al, knowing you, you will be alot happier, but if not, drop me an email and I will work with you on transport of your bike down here if you don't want to ride it all the way with the TPS off. |
