I'm curious what everyone is using for pads on their XB? The stock pads are good, but I'm looking for something with better bite. I know this should be in the KV but the answers come a lot slower there. Thanks, Schmitty |

So far I like the EBC's for the XB's the best. I ride my bike pretty hard in the mountains and even harder on the track. Front part# FA345HH Rear part # FA140HH Pricing might very, I think its cheaper than stock or close. If your dealer has MVP it will be even cheaper. Any cycle shop can get them, Your local Buell-H-D can get from Parts Unlimited. Stone mountain Buell/H-D keeps them in stock. |

Skully, Not sure of the exact material.... Web site is www.ebcbrakes.com Stock pads are good but..adding a better product that will also bring more confidence in your riding that will make you a better rider. Most racers-riders will agree that "mental confidence" in yourself and your bike is half the battle on the track as well in riding on the street. Do you use stock oil? Stock pipe? Stock tires on the track? Its not the arrow, its the indian. I've heard quote somewhere. |

Yep Dave, sooner or later Blake and I are gonna get you on Oak Hill Raceway! Keith PS I don't like the stock pads because they leave deposits on the rotors. The Lindall Gold pads took all that off, they just don't have the same initial bite. I still prefer them over the stock pads though. |

I use DP Brakes on the race bike. They work the best for me. I have used EBC but it seemed like the pad was a bit to soft and before I new it I was changing pads again. I have run DP Brakes since last year and they work great. They last about 2 race weekends. Compared to the one race weekend on the EBC's. www.dp-brakes.com |

Daves, I hope you know I was only stating a point that it doesn't hurt to run an after market product. Sometimes for the same price, thats all. I didn't see anyone post that the stock pads are crappy. Its all good.. ride safe |

I replaced the OE Nissins with EBC when they were about half-worn (4k or so). The feel at the lever was spongy and the brake was fading during moderate use. The EBC pads * have great initial bite * feel taut and progressive * don't fade as much * are barely worn after 5k miles * make hardly any dust I'm thinking maybe the Nissins were wasted early on because of bedding-in a new disc'n'stuff but then again maybe they are just sh*te |

i have 10,000 on the xb, and there is still ALOT of life left in them. how many miles are you guys getting out of a set? i know it cant be that i am to easy on the bike, so i was suprised that when i had the frontend apart for the forks and was going to change break pads they still looked so good. |

I had 8000 miles on the 04 XB12R brake pads but I only got in 5 track days in the 2 years I rode that one. They were still ok but I changed them out for the new owner anyway |

My OEM set went pretty fast, replaced them not long after the first tire change. It was in the 6k-7k mile range. The LRB pads seem to last a little longer, though still under 10k to a set. I'm on my 3rd set of front pads on my XB in ~22k miles. |
