Anyone using the select seat? i have the stock seat on my xb9s and after a few hours of riding my sciatic nerve acts up and im in pain for at least a week (its bad enough i have 1 nut). I was wondering how much more comfortable is the select seat and what evryone is paying for it? I found once place selling it for 172.70 with shipping. thanks |

From what I've heard, it uses a layer of gel similar to what came on my Ss stock. If that's the case, it's MUCH more cushy than the other stockers. I switched to an S tail, so I'm using a "hard" seat now, and there's no comparison...the Ss was waaay softer. On another note though, the Ss gel seat was a rough material, and it held you in place better. Whereas the hard seat, w/ smooth leather allows sliding back and forth much easier. .02 TK |

It's not "soft", per se. I got mine a week or so ago and only have an hour or two on it. But keeping that in mind it's much better than stock, but a nice firm feel. Not cushy at all. Also since it's a Buell item, it snaps right in place, no need to "adjust" it to fit like the Corbin and others say you have to. I am getting used to the odd construction on the passenger pillion, and it looks to be a little roomier back there as well. (Message edited by CURTYd on April 02, 2006) |

I have the select seat and it is 100 times better than stock. It looks better and it feels WAY better. If you ride any distance then its worth the cost. I will be doing a seattle to northern cali Highway 101 trip in may and let you now on the long distance trip comfort |

Ditto what Jasonxb12s said. The Select seat is the second best thing I've ever gotten for my bike. (the first being different tires) |

With that inverted V in the rear section, how does it feel for a passenger? |

My wife is small and seems to think it's got more padding than the original seat; she rides with Teknic riding pants with a padded seat area built in so she really can't even feel the V. But it's never going to be a two up touring bike |

I think you need to take a pic of her on the bike so we dont have any doubts

Looks like a camel toe would fit perfectly in that V! Seriously, are these seats that one can order from my local Buell dealer, or just from Dave? Cheers, - Dervish |
