Decision was made last Friday. Sorry, it wasn't my decision, but I thought it would be better for folks to know now rather than go to the event and find out there. There may be a Buell or two there, but they will be randomly modified, not with RR kit. |

Jason, I gotta agree with you. This has totally bummed me out. Totally unbelievable. I'm very disappointed in Buell. Well, hopefully there will be some Ducs running in the FX race. Can't stand the thought of it being all inline 4's. |

I'm curious; Is it the clutch, or did they find something else? I REALLY hope they get it sorted out quickly. I'd dearly love to see a competitive Buell and some Buell riders up on the podium. It seems that whenever I get really enthused about a bike, something goes wrong with it. Maybe I should start cheering for Erion Honda... |

Barber and Fontana are going to be absolutely awesome for the Buell's. I dont know who's riding BUT if they got rider(s) that can keep the bike constantly leaned over and transition, these technical tracks will be the perfect place to take a win. HP becomes less of an issue and corner speed and exit are the key issues. The rider will make the difference. The XBRR (depending on rider) should be on the podium!!! IMO Barber should be the best race of the season to see. I dont watch AMA racing anymore cause of the lack of "True Racing" I will watch that race...(Wish I was In it!!!) |

They just got back from testing and I believe they will be but not sure.. It really sucks they will not be there. They rushed to get them for Daytona and do 200 laps you would think they would be able to do 25+ laps in a sprint race.. Its almost like all the nay sayers have won. I just hope they get whatever the problem(s) sorted out to race this year. |

Just got back from talking with Terry over at Hals. He's not sure, but he said "It doesn't look like it.". I think they are still chasing problems that unexpectedly appeared at Daytona. It really sucks they will not be there. They rushed to get them for Daytona and do 200 laps you would think they would be able to do 25+ laps in a sprint race.. Yup, it does suck. But, they also didn't think they'd have problems in Daytona. While testing in Texas, Hals had "0" problems with their XBRR. Put over 200 miles on it in a single day, without a single problem. But Cicotto had problems on what? Lap #3? It's unfortunate, but I'd rather see them go to a race prepared to finish it! You guys have to remember, this *IS* a new bike for Buell. There will be problems. |

I gotcha Steve... Have patience, will win. It would just be nice to see the XBRR's RUNNING. |

I sincerely doubt that the state of the machines has much to do with the decision. Mike Cicotto put one of the Hal's XBRRs through its paces at TWS back in February to the tune of 200+ miles. My guess would be that team finances are simply tight, very tight. And possibly some key personnel are needing some long overdue, well deserved family time? Skip the Barber race, or divorce? Skipping the Barber race is the correct decision on that kind of question I'm sure. Pure speculation on my part. Just imagining what might have caused the change of plans is all. |

I kind of figure that too but it still sucks... I'm sure everyone involved agrees. Fans and teams alike. |

In light of the disappointing news, who's still going to be attending Barber? I will still be going since I have spent $$$ in preparation. I guess it will give me more time to see the museum. |

C'mon Adrian, still lots of great racing to see. Ducatis in Superbike! Enjoy and let us know if you see any really ugly umbrella girls. Show us the photos of all the rest. |

This is MAJOR suckage. I've already had the privlege of seeing the museum, but w/o the RRs I'm gonna save my trip for WERA races in the fall. Glad I didn't buy tickets. Seems kinda bogus if they really have a viable race bike to stay away from what should be a Buell friendly venue. No problem with supporting them when they DNF. Kinda hard to do when they DNS- Do Not Show.

Blake sez: "C'mon Adrian, still lots of great racing to see. Ducatis in Superbike! Enjoy and let us know if you see any really ugly umbrella girls. Show us the photos of all the rest." Blake is correct, there will still be some dyn-o-mite racing, and this venue is spectacular. Shucks I have been going to AMA racing for two whole years without any Buells at all...and it was still cool. I was kinda counting on it though, with all of the hype and all. I should still be there on my S2...unless there is rain in the forecast, then I will drive my car. Jimidan |

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching motorcycle roadracing of any kind. However, the new Buell RR's are what got me to plan this little trip to Barber. I won't be able to attend the Atlanta event, as it is over Labor Day weekend and have family commitments. I was in Daytona and what I saw of the new RR's was exciting. I was hoping to see them finish a race. I expect I will have a wonderful time at Barber. I've read so much about the place since it opened. Hope to meet a bunch of you there. I will be wearing a Buell shirt of some variety each day there. If you see me, introduce yourself. |

GGRRRR... And we wonder why the IL4 guys don't take us seriously. Certainly personal issues are more important than racing. But when a PROFESSIONAL organization asks for support and backing it implies to those whose support it seeks that they'll show up. All the privateer and semi-pro teams have financial and personal issues also. They still show up. Amateurs come and go when its "convenient". I love my Buell. But this makes Buell look amateurish and fuels the fires of the snipers. Nomex on, End of rant. Almost... AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Hell all ya need is a pick up truck, couple gallons of fuel, set of rains and a spare brake lever..... How bad would that sting if the Top $$$ metric teams got smoked by a REAL Grass roots effort...... I would volunteer my truck and time to make that happen!!! |

"I seriously doubt that the state of the machines has much to do with the decision". Too Bad. That's the one valid understandable reason for not showing. I'd love to learn that its just because the slipper clutches arent ready or something similar. Can we find out? |

Although I am extremely disappointed I'm sure there's a very good reason for missing Barber. I don't buy the money issue since I don't see how you could plan to run in a series and me out of funds after the first race weekend. I think it's likely that they ran out of time to properly test new parts (to fix Daytona problems) and felt it was better to wait a week and come out strong at the next race. I wish the anonymous Buell insider would start a developer diary style thread here to give us weekly updates on XB-RR progress. I'm not asking to expose trade secrets, it's just that it's much easier to take disappointment when you know the facts. I think it would give everyone a morale boost as well as educate us on all the hard work being done. |

It seems as though Buell have perfected the art of killing momentum. Rumor has it that Rich's team will be there with Mike Hale riding, so at least we can root for them. |
