Hey all, I just got a email flyer from California Harley/Buell in Harbor City announcing, "All OEM Tires $99!" It says, "No matter which H-D or Buell motorcycle you ride, your tires are just $99 each." I'm thinking, "Cool, now I can get those Scorpion Syncs I've been hearing so much about on sale." Is that a good deal? |

American Sport Bike BBQ Plans Past year BBQs have been quite successful, but we get too many San Diego/LA local customers only, and not enough northern CA folks. It's just too far for them to get down and back over the weekend. This year it's going to be a little different. Plans are still being developed, but they are something like this. On the weekend of October 14-15 (possibly one week later, we're still working the details), we're going to turn Buellton, California into Buell Central. The schedule will go something like this: Friday Afternoon/evening: Folks arrive from all over, check into hotels/campgrounds etc. We're working out lodging details now. Saturday AM/early afternoon: Everyone heads on on local rides. We'll map out a long ride and a short ride. Some folks may want to do the short ride and visit the Solvang Motorcycle Museum, others will ride the lots of nice roads in the area. We'll get some of the local folks that know the roads to map something out. I've got a mad maps for the area, there looks to be some nice stuff. Saturday-3PM: Everyone converges on a local park that we'll have an area reserved at, with a catered in BBQ and other refreshments. No beer here, but.... Saturday 5-6PM: Everyone goes back to the hotels, parks their bikes, walks to the Firestone Microbrewery (http://www.firestonebeer.com/) and we party into the night. Sunday: Folks drive home the long way. There are so many cool roads going both North and south from here, people will be able to make a full day of twisty riding. Details are forthcoming. We're trying for the earlier weekend, just have to get the logistics all figured out. If there are any major conflicts, we'll move it out one week. If anyone has any suggestions, now would be the time to forward them to me since we're still early in the planning phases. |

Anybody up for doing the Greenhorn Road Tour "It's Not Your Fault Ride" on May 6th & 7th? It's a backroad tour following the San Andreas Fault starting in Pasadena, overnighting in Marina (by Montery) and ending at Chuys Mesquite Broiler in Newhall. More info: Ride Flyer There's bound to be plenty of twisty roads up around Coalinga to Monterey Bay that this ride can pick from to make for an interesting weekend getaway. I believe Sandblast wound his way to Laguna Seca last year via twisties through Coalinga. Maybe he can chime in on how those roads were? Sparky |

Elsoloscuro, you're right! It did it to me too. Try it this way: Click pasadenamc.topcities.com/ for the Pasadena MC Club home page, then click the "Upcoming Rides" link, then click the "2006† Greenhorn† Run" link, then the flyer should appear. |

Hey Folks....for those at the meeting Thursday ya'all might have remembered me mentioning possibly a ride to Palomar and making it a Photo Ride.Well I'm fishing for dates here!!!!Even though Al will be out of town for the May ride and meeting how'sa bout we do it then?I was thinking that Sunday the LA riders meet the 'Diego riders in Temecula and we ride through Pala to the mountain. Now since I will be bringing the 4Runner with all my Camera gear I'll need a few volunteers to lead both rides and make our meeting spot at the General store. After the meet I will set up at a few of the better corners on the hill and shoot people getting their best lean angles. These corners can be run at pretty slow and still maintain some stability without a lot of gymnastics.I have my new portable Epson printer from Christmas(Thanx Cheryl!!)and can print directly from the camera,no laptop needed and will be printing 5x7's for all attending.Ill find some cardbord sleeves so as to take these home on your bike without damage.Should be a lot of fun and will also post up better shots that night here. All are welcome....Whadd'ya all think???? |

Yea, don't wait for me for the Palomar run. We haven't done it as a group for a while, but I'm up there reasonably often. So by all means use that weekend for the Palomar run. I suggest meeting for breakfast somewhere in old town Temecula, then taking Pala road down to Palomar so that you're doing your photo shoot runs in the early afternoon. The sport bike crazies tend to be up there in the morning hours and should be less bothersome by early afternoon. Al |

FWIW, I rode to Wrightwood via AFH to Mt Emma / Ft Tejon / Vallyermo on Sunday. Vallyermo is still kinda gravelly from the anti snow stuff and it was chilly in Wrightwood. Haven't been to Newcomb's in months, though. ACH is still closed south of Wrightwood. -Saro |
