Hi All, I took the rear pegs off my X1 along with the little triangle mount that bolts to the frame. It occurs to me that the triangle could add structural integrity to the frame. It doesn't seem to have affected anything, should I leave them in place? Thanks, Den |

Nah, that triangle doesnt do anything...except suppor the rear pegs. I havent had mine on since last year..in fact, if you have rearsets, or want some, that is wear they mount. I am sure if you know someone with some aluminium skills, you could have them fab up a plate to use ass a heel gaurd or something... Chase |

Looks a lot better without them and I took off the rear fender too. A nice more naked look... Have the SS belt guards on order, a little more bling and hopefully some protection from a broken belt too! I don't know if I would like the rear set pegs, I would have to ride a bike with the rear sets installed and see how my long legs fit...Thanks Den |

What Chas said. I've had mine off for the last 2 years with no problems, and I beat the wee out of my X-1. Hmmm, heel guard.... I might have to look into that idea. |

Hey Den..wish this post came up before, as I rode from Virginia to Mass... I will be transporting the bike BACK down that way, in box truck, along with all my stuff..might be able to work out swinging through Philly...its no TOO far off the Pike.. Yeah, I had actually came up with some heel gaurds, lemme see if i can find them, and if not, I have the dimmensions, and you could make some.... Oh yeah, I dont bother with t5he upper belt gaurd, though I do keep the lower, helps minimize stuff getting kicked in from the road..other than that, if you can keep your feet outta my wheel/belt area on the bike...stay off.. Hi Chase, I assume you are offering a ride on a rear peg bike? Cool...anytime! I live near the turnpike and not far from I-95, if you come by here again let me know! I have a couple bikes and access to another X1, even if you don't have a scoot we can still ride. I bought a SS belt guard set on ebay, they are the one's shown on the orange frame bike in the ebay ads. They are really nice, heavy duty, serious thick metal, hefty, excellent finish and laser cut. I hope the seller is one of our sponsors, I couldn't find a set via our usual suppliers. Den |

WEll, that Molten Orange frame bike, is Koz's if I am not mistaken..and he makes his own stuff..though, i dont think HE sold those parts..though I could be worng... Den, I will be riding back through probably next week..on my way to Texas, via Virginia and I95... I will have my bike somewhere in a uhaul..but, will try to keep it esily available...even if its just for a short trip....or at least be able to sit on it.. I can offer his much though...If you ride with your toes on the pegs the way they are now...and your foot at about a 45*angle from the ground...thats right about where your feet woudl sit on the rear sets at leat the LSL or CrossRoads, both are up2" back 2"... Love mine... Chase |
