Court could you find out why the Ulysses tall windshield has been delayed again for at least the third time since being announced. I really want to wait for the factory solution, but now it has gone from shipping on 3/15 to 4/28. Are they really going to do this? Anything you could find out would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. | ||

Court likely has no more insight than anyone else at this point -- best guess would be supplier problems, and working out kinks in the chain | ||

Neil: Yeah...but it ain't great news. The "upside" is that it's in the works, but there's a ways to go. I'll get another report next Friday and see if I can start pinning folks down for a date. My PERSONAL guess is that it will likely be the summer dealer show....at least it'll be warmer in the mornings.  | ||

why the Ulysses tall windshield has been delayed again. My guess (note that word). The Uly, even with a stock windscreen, is sensitive to wind gusts. I suspect it is difficult to come up with a taller windscreen and not have it act like a sail. | ||

Court: Thanks for the update. I guess I will just suffer through the spring weather and hope that it is out by fall. Summer will be no problem riding with the stock screen. Happy Trails. | ||

Actually, in an effort to mitigate the ill effects of the late arrival of the tall windscreen, Buell has arranged the early arrival of spring this year. This should forestall the need for the taller screen for a bit. This is just the type of service, meteorogical manipulation, that Buell is proud to offer.  I'll keep ya'll posted. | ||

guess that would explain where our windshield we ordered is. low seat showed up but thats all. oh well the brand new uly they are going on has been sitting on a lift minus a broken kickstand for over a month now since they are on back order. | ||

thanks court. we will wait alittle longer. first i was getting told about mid june, now the last person i talked to was hoping first week in april. just for clarification this isnt my personal bike its one of the brand new ones at work that should be sitting on the showroom floor. was on the phone an hour or two friday trying to talk them into pulling one off of the line since its been sitting on our lift for over a month waiting. ends up i could HOPEFULLY get one that way if i really tried, but then its a whole assembly and they want almost double the price to send that. it will be getting taken care of under warrenty as far as my parts manager is saying, except he figures if we go the whole assembly route, then its also replacing stuff that isnt broken and they dont think warrenty will cover all those extra parts.?. got me on that one. does this even make any sense? im starting to confuse myself, lol. a way you might be able to help me though is if you know of a more direct way to talk to some one KNOWLEDGEABLE about buells when i have a question at work. for the most part when i have tried using the customer service numbers that we are supposed to use its an ordeal. its actually HD customer service with a branch that is supposed to be buell help line. for example i went to that particular department on a question about something for a 2001 M2. person answers the phone asking what type of bike i was needing info on and i replied 2001 M2 cyclone. the response from the buell help person was "what is that?" i was like you are kidding right? the next response was even better, "is that a buell?" i said no its a honda thats why i called the buell branch of HD helpline. that was the end of that conversation, i said nevermind and called a couple people off of here for the answers. i do appreciate the offer on the kickstand though. i will see what pans out on that in the next little while. | ||

I ordered a Cee Baileys back in December. I received a stock-height shield by mistake. By the time I returned then tried to order the taller shield, their prices had gone up something like 50% !!! That's when I ordered the taller one from Buell ( I;m still waiting too). BTW the tall shield was on display at the Daytona Convention Center show. It was on the wall and on a bike. I couldn't pin anyone down for an explanation of the delay however. | ||

I learned from a dealer today that it appears the tall windshield is ready for release. The part # now has an 'A' behind it. Neither he nor I am sure what the mod was. Bret | ||

The tall windshields have arrived. My dealer Gail's HD/Buell has them. I haven't seen it yet, but I will tomorrow. I will take a look and compare to the Cee Bailey. |
