Oh, I thought you were talking about grilling AT the races. There will probably be quite a few of us, so maybe we could do it at the camp site. That way you won't have to worry about the cleanup. |

Hello New to the forum and this thread but I do live in Madison so I thought this would be a good place for my first post. I just crossed over to a Uly (Black) from my well loved, but seldom ridden 99 Springer. Absolutely no regrets...just over 600 miles since last Wednesday! Which brings me to my first question...I have the 1000 mile service coming up very soon. Is Rocket HD a reasonable place to have the service done at? IF not, any recommendations? Thanks in advance, Scott |

Flyor, Glad to have you around! As far as service goes, Rocket is not too bad. If you need anything for a buell, they are not the place to go, as they do not carry any buell parts/accessories/etc. For parts and the like, you can find anything you need on the sponsors page on this site. I have ordered stuff from American Sportbike and have been VERY happy with their operation. Also, I hear that Appleton harley is really good too, plus Dave gives a discount to BadWeb members. So, how bout taking that new Uly for a trip to Suches, GA this weekend?? Check out the 3% bragging rights group here in storm fronts, and look for the March Badness information under their heading. I am heading out that way on Friday morning, coming back on Sunday. Also, all us north Alabama Buellers ought to get together for a ride soon! Russ |

I'll ask but I doubt I'll get a full kitchen pass on such short notice. Not to mention I had one all last weekend to break in the bike! The honey do list just kept piling up while I was gone! I may try to go down to Barbers for the races next month though. That'd be a nice ride indeed. Thanks for the tips on Rockets... |

I haven't forgot about ya'll. I'm retiring at the end of the year from the Marines and we are still concentrating on the Huntsville area. I'm hoping to find a job in that area. If things work out I hope to get a chance to meet all of you and go for a ride. |

Ret AF here. Lot's of government contractors in Huntsville. Where's the retirement ceremony? Suches is still iffy for me now. I relocate to Florence this weekend for a few months. Maybe...maybe... DAve (Message edited by dave on March 28, 2006) |

Flyor, If I don't see you this weekend, I will see you at the races... My tickets came in the mail yesterday.. WOOT! Southern Marine, look forward to having you in Huntsvegas! Dave, if you do get a chance to go, I am leaving early (around 8am) Friday, so if you want to caravan, let me know. |

Ratyson - Sounds good. Trying to convince my dad to ride up (he's in the Montgomery area) and we can meet at the races. BTW I rode up to Bumpus HD in Murfressboro today. They actually have a Buell section with a small selection of parts and apparel. Two Ulys even! One had most of the Buell aftermarket parts on it and that was cool to see all the stuff up close. Those hard bags are nice...and huge! |

Flyor, I am glad you mentioned Bumpus HD, I could not remember the name. I have talked to one of the guys up there through email, and they sound like a good shop to go to. He said that some of the mechanics up there are buell enthusiasts and that they love working on Buells, so the next time I need service, I will most likely bring it up there. See you at the races! |

Yeah they actually had more Buells in one place than I've ever seen. At least 10 of them on the floor and a couple of used ones out front. They seemed to know what they were talking about. I'm seriously considering taking mine there for the 1000 mile service (which will be next week at this pace!). Plus it's a pretty nice ride up the back roads and not too long (about 86 miles from Madison via TN110 and HWY231). |

Rocket is not as bad as it used to be. Since I'll officially be working for their Rider's Edge program within the next few months I've spent a lot of time there training and attending classes. They hired a Buell Tech about six+ months ago. He's a good kid, but since the number of Buells that come in is a bit low, he looks bored at times doing other tasks. He rides a Lightning; we should get him on the board. His name is Allen if you ever have any questions. As far as parts, as mentioned above, they are a weak source. They stock turnsignals, OEM tires, and a few common Blast components, yet that is about it. Otherwise expect to wait 7-10 business days. Cheers |

Edonis - you don't happen to know what they charge for a service do you? I was going to comparison shop before I took it in. |

Judging by all the posts, those of us that didn't make it to MB3 really missed out. Oh yeah, talked to the guys at Rocket reference services. Not sure on the later ones, but the 1000 mile service runs $250 - $260. So not too bad from what I've been reading (Message edited by flyor on April 03, 2006) |

Flyor, We definitely had a great time. It was great seeing all of those Buells in one place, and the roads were a blast... and the food was spectacular! You should definitely try to get out there for a weekend of riding. Edonis, What happened to ya?? I was waiting to hear from you about getting your stuff to carry out there? Did you guys get tied up? Anyone going to Myrtle Beach this May? My dad and I are planning on riding up on May 17 and return May 22. Do y'all know if there's a BRAG booth (or anything BUELL) at the event? My pop's is on his heritage softail so he'll have plenty for him... Us Buellers shouldn't be left out! |

Russ, My father decided his arm wasn't in the right condition to make the trip after doing a 100 mile ride to test it out. I had only enough time to pop over and catch up with a group or two then make it back the same day. I appologize, but I forgot to plug your number into my phone. I've got it now though, so I can catch up with you. |
