Mine is from my love of flying. I am a pilot and ex-rescue helicopter flight engineer. The low part comes from the scary-fun low-level flying we did in the helos. |

Because of my current helmet; my name, (Sir) Richard; and my ORANGE Ulysses's fly screen looks like a shield. BTW, my dead father's middle name was Ulysses. Some things are just meant to be!

That helmet is also under the some things are meant to be action. I found that model of helmet fitted me well and was comfortable. When Duhamel went to Shark, my helmet was on close-out at a very nice discount! I did not have the hots for dragons or Duhamel. Some things are just meant to be! |

Slayer, I thought your name was meant to teach people how to type. If I were you, I would have picked "Guy_with_a_fancy_helmet_that_has_some_dragons_painted_on_it"

When I tried to register here on Badweb, someone already had the name John in every variety that I tried. My best friend is young enough to be my son and he frequently calls me a crusty old fart. In a fit of frustration I tried Crusty, and nobody else had it. |

My father would yell, "Charlieboy!" when he was mad. I used it as my E-mail addy but it was taken, so 6649 was some truly random numbers I threw in so it would work. I used the same handle here, and everywhere else. It's what my friends know me by... |

Jlnance

The EOS computer system at NCSU, back in 1990, assigned you a user name consisting of your first 2 initials, and the last 6 characters of your last name. Thus I became jlnance. I've always been proud of the fact that I treat people online the same way I would treat them in person. Whenever I get to choose a new user name, I always pick jlnance to associate it with any goodwill I've generated in the past. I guess if I ever do something truly bone headed on line, I'll have to find a new name. |
