I have a brand new Arai Corsair, an 5 year old Arai Quantum and a something like 9 or 10 years old Arai Signet. As you can see, I like Arai helmets! Before buying my new Corsair, I tried many brand of helmets Shoei, Suomy, Sharks, Icon, KBC and probably other brand that I don't remember and nothing feel nice as an Arai for me. I probably have an Arai head! |

The Scorpion 400 is my favorite. It cost me $140 with an extra tinted shield. Easy to clean and the visor is fog proof! With extra liners available, cleaning is a cinch. The desert camo liner is a must have for me. Dale |

The AGV GP-1 for $85 is the best deal that I can think of... its both snell and DOT approved and I am happy with it (something I can leave with the bike and not stress about it).
Although it does in no way compare to my second helmet (AGV Ti-Tech industrial). The ti-tech is ultra quiet, ultra comfy, light, comes with two visors, ultra hideous, and will cost you an arm and a leg...

I have an Arai Quantum that has been an excellent helmet for the past six years. I decided I needed a new helmet for the new bike and new leathers so I chose a Shark RSR2 Foggy Legend. It is sweet. I feel like I have 30% more vision than I do with my Arai. It hurt my head the first time I rode, it was a little tight, but by the second ride it felt as though the interior had formed to my head. I bit pricey, but it comes with tear-offs, a "racing" neck guard, 3mm thick shield and a coolmax liner that is removable, and some of the newest and lightest technology out there. |

I currently have a Shoei X-11 I have a new GF who will actually ride with me so I am going to pass that on to her and give a KBC force RR a shot. If I dont like it then I am trying one of the Scorpions. I like the graphics on the Icons. Do they have good ventilation? |

I have two HJC's a CL-12 & CL-14 I like the 12 better I fits tighter even though there both the same size..But for the longest time I've been wanting to get an ICON mainframe...I think they look good and have good reviews, also their priced well at $250..that would be my choice with my limited funds |

I have an Arai RX7 Corsair. Fits my head perfectly. The most comfortable helmet I've tried. Got it on E-bay brand new for about half off retail. They're there if you search for them. I've had an HJC CL-14.(heavy, poor venting, but relatively quiet and held up well in a crash) I've also had a Suomy Spec 1R.(decent venting, very light, loud, but didn't fit my head very well) That said, none of these compared to my Arai in any category. When it comes time to buy again I would like to try the Shark RSR, AGV Ti-Tech, or the Shoei X-11. |

I second the motion for the Scorpion helmets. Shoei quality and fit add 1/3 the price. |

I currently have a Shoei RF-900. It's comfortable, vents well enough, and is plenty quiet when I wear ear plugs. I paid $260 for it about 3 years ago. I've tried on a bunch of Arais and the Shoei X-11, didn't like the fit of any of them. My next will probably be another Shoei RF series. |

99buellx1 Thanks, but that's a little far away. I want to be able to drop off and pick up the helmet so that I can verify the job before making payment. |

Arai Quantum, Blue Doohan replica...getting old though, kinda like those Schuberth S1 with the built in Sun visor...tried one on the other day. Pretty neat, but a little on the heavy side...also it has a cool Name! (S1)...

HJC AC-11. The first one worked great when I tested it by skating down the asphalt for a hundred feet or so, so I bought another one. It has all the features and the price is great. It is slightly heavier than an Arai, but for 1/3 the price you can build your neck muscles a bit more. I also have a high-end Suomy, and the HJC is just as good IMO. Comfy, removable liner, shield, etc. and reasonably priced - check ebay to find a great buy on a NEW one, don't buy used. |

I've got an Italian made Vemar, VSR Carbon. Lightest helmet I've ever seen and fantastic aerodynamics. It retailed for $900., but I got it from Sportbike Track Time for $300.

Shoei RF-1000. Only helmet at the local shop that fit me. It's an XXL and my head size is 59 or L. Must be the shape of my head. I'd rather have it tighter up top, but the XL smashes my cheeks between my teeth. |
