I have just arrived at the 500 mile mark on my new uly. It seems to have developed a "light" clicking/tapping noise during warm up. Is it likely to be a stuck lifter? Note I haven't adjusted anything including the primary chain. Still has the original oil, and break-in was performed according to the book. Service manual is on order and planned to change oil, primary fluid, and recommend adjustments on Tuesday, service manual should be here Monday. Any ideas? Thanks John |

If a Buell stops sounding like it's full of marbles... That's when you should start to worry . The other four lifters/rockers will begin to sound the same soon . |

Try earplugs. I am not kidding, M1 is correct. |

I used a Force pipe to quiet the engine . |

I feel the same way about my XB12Ss. It's noisy, especially after it warms up. I felt better after I heard another Buell running, I think there all noisy. My brothers 1200 Sportster is pretty noisy too. I put a louder pipe and I can't hear the motor now. |

Yeah, get a muffler and it magically goes away. It's just the nature of the beast. I have an Ss and also has just 500 miles on it and it's the same as yours. Have a Econo Drummer on it now though, I barely hear it, only at idle can I pick it up. |
