Okay, here’s the deal, I just want something different and have a lot of leeway in what I get. So, I ain’t talking cash offers, I am talking trades, unless your cash offer is within my acceptance range which is currently running between $4,500-$5,500 depending on my state of mind at the moment in question. Below $4,500 and I’ll just keep them both because less than that amount won’t get me where I want to get to so at less than that I’ll just sit on these and get where I want to get to some other way at some future time. I do have patience, sometimes more so than other times, but right now with the change in seasons maybe less so, but regardless here we be. That gets the cash asking price out of the way. That price range is for “each”, not “both”, even though some folks have been selling their bikes at a “both” price, but I am not, I have no real problem keeping “both” of them if need be. ‘nuff said on that. 2000 Buell M2: If this one goes I will want/need something for 2-up riding. A dresser will do, FLH, FXR, Dyna, something like that, your basic bagger. Preferably something newer than 1990, but that is a very soft date. It will have to be something I can hop on and do a 3,000 mile ride on without hesitation nor concern, but even that is somewhat of a soft requirement. BMW’s and other assorted bikes might be remotely considered but will have to pass the passenger test, and if the passenger seat sits too high it won’t pass the passenger test, and if the bike sits way too low it won’t pass my test unless it’s something I can readily work with. 1995 Buell S2: It is what it is, needs some tinker work, does not have the signature series stuff because I didn’t get that stuff when I bought the bike. For this one a fishing boat will do, or maybe a fun car with decent gas mileage in decent condition, sports car is fine, and a Jeep is fine too, this is one of those extremely wide categories where even the FLH from above would do as well. I don’t care what KBB.com says it is worth, I only care what it would be worth to me. If you tell me my $5,000 bike is only worth $2,500-$3,250 then I’ll simply say your $6,000 car is only worth the same. No offense intended. Trade is trade, get close and it’s a done deal. I’ve got no cash to throw in on this, but will take cash if you want to throw some in to better balance the deal. If you have a boat, even that is a wide range from sail to power to rowing, from glass to aluminum to wood, I like boats and have an ugly hand-brush painted 10’8”+/- fiberglas canoe I can work into the deal from my side, but your boat would have to be able to be towed by a medium to small car, or maybe cartoppable. I’m about 20 miles or so north of downtown Milwaukee and will be digging the bikes out of the garage this weekend to freshen up their oils and lubes and freshen up the remaining gas in their tanks and doing whatever other maintenance items I get to on them over the next few weeks. This is the last time I’ll be posting these bikes for sale or trade on the site here, but I reserve the right to “reply” to other people’s postings of their stuff for sale or possible trade. I know any of you can do better buying elsewhere for lower prices, and I encourage you to do so while the prices remain low. I’m just putting these up here to make myself feel better and to say I tried, but this is a serious offer should anyone be considering taking me up on this. Usual disclaimers apply, YMMV, yada yada, napa napa, zing zam zoo (too much time around the wife’s grandkids lately, sorry). But if you are considering offering me something you’d better hurry because I’m am shopping locally and I reserve the option to retract this offering should I manage to sell a couple of houses in the next few weeks as the market begins to wake up again. (cue announcer and closing credits) ps, both bikes have between 25,000-30,000 miles on each of them. And I'd hop on either of them and ride to Minneapolis and back in a moments notice if it was warmer and if I had the time/need/want/desire to do so.

Mike, I'm not sure why exactly but I love this ad. I'm not interested in adding either bike to my stable, just overcome by the remarkable openmindedness of your venture. NUTS |

You should have seen us at one car dealership recently, drove the salesguy absolutely nuts. He was dead set on us getting a minivan, but as we walked around the lot I kept wandering over to look at Jeeps, pickups, SUV's, compact cars, sub-compact cars, back to 1-ton trucks, back to sport wagons. When I took my pickup in for some service work which we bought there last year I think the salesguy deliberatly hid from me. Oh, and we ended up getting a Mercury Sable for the wife at a different dealership where the salesguy didn't care what we were looking at and was willing to answer our questions about each car/vehicle we looked at. I should say I also drive my wife nuts when she asks where I want to go to eat and I say I don't care, I can pretty much find something I like on almost any menu. |

(I like this drawing, found at http://www.marlaspalette.com/jpgs/gallery_gone_fishing.jpg . I think I'll print out the picture and maybe build a boat just like it.) |

Slowly sliding down towards the archives, never to be posted by me in these classifieds again. . . . . . . At least not in their current condition/configuration. Off to go find some boat plans ....

Well, that's it then, only one inquiry and he's not returning email anylonger so I guess the interest went away. S'okay, alright then, life goes on. Got other stuff to do than try to sell a Buell.
Take care. |
