I like my shoei RF-900 a lot, but define not too expensive. Generally speaking i have found that I like the higher end helmets much better then the cheapie ones. My brother likes his HJC's and I think they where fairly cheap. |

I've got a scorpion Exo700... IMHO they are just as good, light, tech fabric, and nifty as any onther high end helmet. Great buy.. for $299- their anti-fog lens is amazing... |

Z1R STRIKE BLADE MOTORCYCLE HELMET This is what I use and so do a lot of my friends. $89 or less on ebay and motorcyclist magazine did a test on all helmets and it was rated one of the best in crash's regardless of price! check link http://motorcyclistonline.com/gearbox/hatz/ |

Me and my girlfriend both have Scorpion EXO's (she has 2 actually). They are great helmets. Lightweight, durable, anti-fogging, quick release shields (for night or day riding), cool graphics and best of all the lining is fully removable. This makes it very easy to wash when need be. I also have a Simpson Bandit, fireproof drag racing helmet. |

Arai Astral-x, and soon a KBC force RR. Fit is the biggest issue. The helmet has to fit your head comfortably. The premium you pay for more expensive helmets is usually warranted by better venting, removable liners, and quality of materials used. Motorcyclist recently had a big 2 part article on the effectiveness of various helmets tested called blowing the lid off. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/gearbox/hatz/index.html |

Arai Corsair. Unreasonably priced, but I still wear it. |

I have a Scorpion Exo700 also and I have to admit its probably as good as a 400 helmet. I like solid colors better so I didnt have to spend all that much on it. Just $180 The Antifog is cool. My favorite feature is the breath deflector. |

I have a HJC AC-11 which works OK I guess, but I tried a friend's RF-1000 which seems to fit a little tighter, but still OK. The difference I can feel is at 65+mph there's way less wind force on my head w/ the Shoei than w/ the HJC and is definitely quieter. Also it seems the HJC shell is a bit bigger. (altho they both same L size and have same head circumference measurement). So it seems there's some different in term of comfort. All of them seems to protect you well in a crash. So I'd like to know, given a proper fit, which one will be most comfortable on a naked bike such as my XB12S? Price range? Shoei RF-1000 (non graphic) seems to be around $350, so that's probably where i start as a fair price. I have seen $600-$700 helmets and not sure if they add any other comfort / feature / performance which makes it worth the 2x the price? |

Shoei TZR, but I'm lusting after the Scorpion Exo700. I tried them out at the IMS a couple weeks ago and I was very impressed. The Shoei is a good helmet, but the anti-fog and removable liner of the Scorpion is rather tempting. |

Here in Florida the Scorpions are between 140 and 200 (depending on whether you get a fiberglass or polycarbonate helmet), I think since they're very new on the market the price is lower, they are so lightweight and once they stand the test of time, they're gonna go up in price.. fabulous helmets! http://www.scorpionusa.com/ |

I go through a couple of helmets a year. Right now, in commission, I have Bieffe B-20, my thrasher winter helmet(retiring tomorrow!), an HJC CL-14, my summer thrasher(retiring end of May), a new CL-14 as my new summer thrasher, and a KBC VR1 as my "good" helmet. The HJC CL's fit my head very well. The new CL-15 just replaced the 14, and has the same fit. |

I have a Scorpoin EXO 700 that I picked up for $80 at an open house event. I see there charging 200+ now. Great helmet, but still pretty new to the market so they can be a little tough to find. Take the advice from the guys above about buying what fits you best. And dont settle for anything less than a Snell approval. |
