Has anyone changed their fork oil on their Uly yet? The factory service manual outlines the disassembly & assembly very well but does not specifically address oil changes. Does the damper rod assembly really need to be removed? Or is it possible to pump the oil out of it then pour the oil out of the fork? If the damper rod assy. does need to be removed, is it possible to do without the fork spring compression tool? Thanks. |

unless the Uly has a fork that has nothing at all in common with every other fork on the planet, you can just pour the oil out from the top -- pouring and them pumping the fork will get almost all of the oil out (always some hiding in the nooks and crannies) -- damper rod shouldn't have to be touched |

The tech at the dealer made it sound like it was going to be a big deal. Maybe they were trying to scare me into paying 1.5 hours labor to have me bring my fork legs to them for a simple oil change. I'm going to dive into them myself this weekend. |

Just passed 8K last weekend. I want to get the 10K maint. finished early because the weather is not that good here yet. Soon I will want to be riding as much as possible, and not working on it. I should be able to get through most of the summer before the next major maint. intervul comes up at about 18K mi. |
