Thanks for writing and asking. Sorry that I have not posted, I'm not much of a communicator. I think it is that tendency to be a loner that makes motorcycling such a passion for me, when I am on the bike, it's just me, the wind, the road ahead of me. Even when I occasionally ride shotgun on my husbands bike, I don't chat much - I just fade away. Anyway - I sort of lost touch with the site and then about two weeks ago my husband convinced me to chronicle my journeys in the WWW. I am planning to ride my Blast from Florida to Michigan. Something that a lot of riders around here think is crazy. They just don't understand my love of this bike. Yeah I have had bigger bikes. Owned a cruiser that I loved, but not as much as I love this Blast. So why ride a bike that is bigger or badder or whatever the other guy thinks, when I don't really care to begin with. Anyway - I wrote Eric Buell a letter asking if he thought the motor could handle the kind of miles I am putting on it and he wrote me back - said "ride, ride, ride". So that I am doing. I just rolled over 12,000 miles this past weekend. I figure by time I leave for Michigan in June I will be nearing 15,000. I replaced the clutch with a Barnett HE clutch cable (awesome!) and will be getting new rubber (Avon) before I leave. Also plan to do some mods to the seat for comfort. You ask "Where's Maggie - go to www.whereismaggiemae.com and you will see! Again, sorry for my absence. I will try to get back and post an update. Would be nice to have some badweatherbikers sign my guestbook. Thanks for asking Maggie Mae "..Life is a journey, not a destination..." www.whereismaggiemae.com |
