well after 3 years in Japan Blast-less My ratlike Blast arrived yesterday...sadly the movers lost the keys but other than that it looks good. I booked an appointment with a local independent motorcycle service shop (since I won't have time in my schedule to work on it until summer and that's too many lost riding days) to have it refreshed from it's long nap. Johnson Engine Technology is a mile or so down the road so this winter I may go pick their brains for ideas. Regardless it's great to have my Blast Back |

Ypu mean you couldn't adjust around it using the Profi spacers - strange? They come in a long 1.25 configuration and even though the limit is two spacers per joint that still leaves a lot of room for adjustment. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

I didn't really find a fairing that I liked and in truth I decided that I wanted to stay with the 7" headlight though I will be changing the brackets. There is a laundry list of things I have wanted to do, both mechanical and cosmetic. Being stateside, employed and having a long winter make is going "force" me into investing too much money into my Blast Having J.E.T. in the neighborhood will make engine mods interesting and having a garage makes the rest fun |

I don't think a fairing is in the plans unless I find something that I just HAVE to HAVE. I like the 7" headlight it gives the bike a train engine look at night and I have a nice set of blue headlights that I bought in Japan. Too many things wrong with Turtle to take to the local service shop so I'm doing much of the work afterall. Locksmith has the ignition for re-keying (movers lost my keys) Mirrors arrived yesterday and I have a Yusua battery on order which should arrive in a week or so. Tires are good (one less thing I need to do), Hawaii should cough up my title (Looooong story) before I get home from Norfolk Va at the end of the month. The bike will be rideable, I hope before I head to San Diego in May (work can be a b1tch sometimes) but I'll have a month this summer to be blasting |

Well Turtle is legal now I spent most of that last 2 months in places other than home but TODAY I rode to work....ahhhhh soooo nice. Roads here in southern new england are great for just riding...Yesterday on my way to get inspected the dreaded carb boot went out. Thankfully I noticed it next to a hardware store so I went in and bought a furnace pipe coupler cut it in half and screwed it on. I've used one before so I know it works this time though I'm not buying the Buell part to replace it with. The Rubber is about twice the thickness of Buell's boot and way easier to find It's high temp rubber to it should do fine. As for the rest of my day well I've got 40 more minutes til I get to cruise more backroads home....can't wait |

LOL - I just put on Turbotimes aftermarket boot for the Blast - re-enforced hose - actually a bit thinner than the Blast rubber unit, however, so far so good - we'll see if it can take some riding! GT - JBOTDS! EZ |
