I know there have been several of these recently so I'm sure there are other owners looking for a little more protection. Does anyone know if:
a) the Ulysses windscreen/front portion can be adapted to fit on the Lightning
and b) does the Ulysses screen provide more wind protection as it appears it will?
I'll probably be doing a lot more traveling/touring on the bike in the coming months and would really prefer not to get pushed around any more than necessary.

a) I don't believe so.
b)Try one of these, should do the same, but cost less.

Anyone actually using the laminarlip? Does it really cut down the flow?

Thanks for the links guys. I've seen the Laminar lip one and that's what I'm leaning toward at the moment. I just don't care too much for the way the Cee Bailey's looks but I was thinking if I converted to a Ulysses screen there are more options for different screens. I might still look into it next time I'm at the dealership.

I just got my Laminar lip for my XB12S today, took the fly screen out and heat it up a bit with a hair dryer (was 45F outside today) to get to that 70F requirement for the 3M adhesive. No drama there. Took it out for a spin, didn't budge at all at 80mph.

It seems to have cut down the wind quite a bit, not totally, but made a highway cruising much more comfortable.

Will try to post some pics once I get home tonight.

Jp....check with DAVES, I was at one point gonna convert my CItyX to a ULY front ( replacing the current sides that hold the instrument panel and turnsignal ) It was gonna run a couple hundred.

He may still have the list of parts and pricing.

Simple and effective way is to get a Royal Enfield wind screen. Works well and looks fine!

Uly - I got the windscreen from this Royal Enfield site. I think it was about $60.00 plus shipping etc.

http://www.enfieldmotorcycles.com/parts.html

The screen is pre-drilled. I just lined up the holes and drill my existing Buell windscreen and bolted it on. About a one hour job.

I did buy some Uly windscreen fastners. I just haven't attached them yet. Keep on forgetting to get a 5/8 drill with a 3/8 shaft to do my drilling.

Actually, I think I like the Cee Bailey's best out of those options. Still, like I have asked before in another post, I would be much keener on something that would give my "S" more of an "R" look out front. As my wife has been whining about wind blast when she rides the thing, I may just buy the Cee Bailey's one and swap it on when she wants to ride for any distance. Thanks for the link to that page!

Sorry, late post, just got nice weather today to take some pics. You can see the 3M locking pads. Some spots the screen angle doesn't match the OEM flyscreen so it goes on crooked, not much can be done, I supposed. But it seems to stay put.

Hope this works:

BTW, looks like they also got a "clear" version of it too. That may keep the "naked" look more intact.

I have had one on my bike for a couple of weeks now. Yesterday was the first longer ride (~140 miles) part of it on the interstate. I thought it made a huge difference, esp. at 80+mph. No problems it stays put.

I was at over 100mph today and the screen didn't budge, so all is good, I think. Also it definitely did make a huge difference. Before I installed it, going at 80mph, the wind force is beating me up pretty good. Now it's no issue at all even at 100mph. You still feel some wind, but it's greatly reduced. I'm happy w/ the result.

2 days and 200 miles later... the "lip" is great...no significant buffeting up to 100 mph!
