Hi folks, late for winter mods.. but here's what I'm doing, let me know if I'm forgetting anything around these items: I have a drummer, k&n, race ECM on its way.. (rear stand, mirrors and crossroads bars too) So along with this, I have new exhaust hanger clamps... DO I NEED TO UPGRADE SPARK PLUGS / WIRES? I'm also switching over to synthetic oils.. so I have new gaskets on order. I know I need to have the TPS and probably the AFV reset... Am I forgetting anything? Do I need to be concerned about ignition timing or anything else with all these mods? Thank you! |

Hey FC, did you consider the directlink instead of the race ECM? You know that ECM is set up for the race can, so it doesn't quite get it right for the other pipes available right? |

Fc -- changing oil should not require any gasket changes, if they are OK now, they'll be OK in the future Upgrade to plugs and wires will not be necessary unless they are already trashed for some reason Timing should also be a non-issue, thought you're correct on TPS sounds like you're gonna have some good garage fun! enjoy! |

If you can have your stock ecm mapped you can delete the tps reset, and probably get more out of the drummer than just the race ecm - |

Thanks for the responses... I know the race ECM is meant for the race can, but it will run better than stock, albeit not perfectly tuned. And aren't we still waiting for for specific ECM maps via direct link? What's the status on this, anyone know? Either way, I liked the idea of having the extra ECM, can switch back if I want. I'll leave my plugs and wires for now, no problems... was just under the impression that folks move to Iridium plugs with these mods, but OK - not necessary. As far as gaskets, I meant I have a clutch cover gasket on order for the tranny oil change as per the manual says to replace it each time. Is that not necessarily true? Thanks, |

I am on my 4th tranny oil change, and only my second gasket, don't really know if it was required then or not either, but it was there so why not? |
