So is it a 1995 or is it an S-3 as they are mutually exclusive. And you don't want a wiring harness from a 1995 S-2 as it is way different and has old style circuit breakers. You need one from a later M-2 or carbed S-3,I think there is one for sale in the classifieds. There is a complete S-1 manual in the Knowledge Vault-should have a diagram there. |

well, it says 1995 s3t on the add from where I bought it.my brother is a h.d. mech.and has access to all the parts I might need.I've got a tank, intake, carb., coils, and wire harness from a carbed. buell, he said I'm going to need a sensor for cam timing and that should about do it.besides a air filter. |

Check out the S1 manual in the Knowledge Vault. For the most part, the wiring is the same for most of the tube frame models (I think). I used an S3T harness on my S1W. Just needed to change the plug used for the headlight. |

mine is going to be a race only application so as long as the ignition charging and starting can be made to work thats all that matters. |

There ain't no such critter as a '95 S3T. The ad was wrong. Until you know what you've got you're not going to reliably get anywhere. There was a guy on EBay parting out a "95 S3" of some sort. I EMailed him that his description was wrong, he ignored it. You've probably got a piece of that. God only knows how many people that idiot has frustrated. |

Probably off an S2. Might not be usable at all on your bike. An S3 harness would have been usable on an X1. You have grounds to make a complaint at EBay or at least leave bad feedback, assuming this is who I think it is. As I said, I left a message on one of his sales that there's no such thing as a '95 S3. |

It's a lot different, is my understanding. The S1 was "the first modern Buell" in that all the rest of the tubers were based on that wiring setup, suspension, frame, tank compatibility and more. The S3 and S1 are very close cousins in every respect, with the X1 a derivative. The S2 is another sort of beast entirely, it's got more in common with the old RS/RSS than it does the later tubers. The S2 was the last design before Harley put a good chunk of money in leading to the S1 (1996) and S3 (1997). Harley didn't complete the buyout until '98 but their influence was clear going back to '96. That's a '95 part. Capiche? |

You need to look at the wiring plugs coming off the motor and see if they are the same and some of the S-2's had an early style plug on the ignition box also. The S-2 was just a different beast, more Harley stuff like the switch gear etc than any of the later models. |

Chris, Before you hack up that S2 harness. Are you just looking for the bare-bones wiring required to make it start/run/charge with tach/oil press/neutral? If so a bare bones harness would not be difficult to make in place on the bike. Should be able to sell that stock harness to offset picking up the only required items from the dealer. Throw on a spst for on/off and a spst momentary for start. Just a thought |

o.k. can someone email me a s2 diagram. or snailmail, me one. I think thats what it is.it has old style breakers in it.I've got a good source for older h.d. parts so I'm not really worried about that.I've got everything I need for the conversion now. I might be able to do it with out a diagram It will just be a pain. |
