Yesterday's meeting was a good time(as usual). We discussed business but a lot of the conversation revolved around the adventure to Daytona. Those who went met Erik, Court and a host of others who are the movers and shakers in Buell's world. Some, like David Lassiter even got some one on one time with Mr. Buell. The flag that flew over David's unit in Faluja is now flying over the Buell factory! How cool is that! John Martindale presented us with replicas of the Japanese made drive pins(joking, they were paperclips) that soiled the XBRR's debut in Daytona. Also, this month's give-a-way were two Buell XBRR posters donated by Buell C/O Court Canfield via Brankin. Mike and Larry were the lucky winners of those. After the meeting and my personal emergency battery-ectomy, we went and carved on Devil's Racetrack Rd for a while. While at the dealership, we were treated to a classic if not a little distubed moment as a guy on a Duece rolls in by us, rides around the building, then proceeds to do a burnout in front of the dealer. Then he rides around the other side, comes back and does another one. Well, I found it amusing See what you miss by not attending? March Badness is coming up in 2 weeks, so those going, time's near! Some things in the works in the near future are: May 13th, C-3 Jr parent/child ride to Morrow Mtn. Others are welcome, just remember there will be children on this ride, not just those of us who wish to remain children. June 2-4, Buell Homecoming in East Troy Wisconsin. This is an annual pilgrimage for Brankin. Will there be others going? June 21-23, CCS/ASRA races @ VIR. This was going to be my adventure to work on. The idea is to go, watch the races, camp out, and throw a party there on Saturday night, inviting other BRAG chapters in the region to join in. Someone willing to pick up the ball on this one? It's a fun event to go to, Danville has some good roads in the region, and VIR is probably THE nicest race track there is. Oh, and did I mention that Buell is well represented in several classes with CCS/ASRA and dominates a couple? August 18-20 AMA Series @ VIR. Formula Extreme, say any more? Planning is under way for this one too. See the big boys race, enjoy VIR some more. Ride. Anyone else have any ideas? The next meeting is April 8th BE THERE!!!!!!! Dave} |

Dang Jim, big dragon! I had no idea LOL - Actually she has no idea. She was telling me this morning she wished the Dragon (The one at Deals Gap) wasn't 11 miles long, since we would have to drive so slowly. Uh huh. |

C3s, Had a great time in Daytona with those that were able to make it. I'm in the process of planning a trip to VIR in August, perhaps we can get members from the MD/VA chapters and the C3s together for the event. Any of you planning to make a trip to the DC area feel free to contact me, we'll do what we can to help fellow Buellers passing through the area and show ya'll a good time. -RAS |

Ramon, It was too cool at Daytona. We are definitely planning for June CCS race and August AMA race at VIR. It would be great to have all the local BRAG chapters put together a Daytona BBQ style party at VIR. |

Ramon, Good to hear from you again. I finally responded to your E-mail - sorry for the delay. We will definitely have to do something for the AMA races at VIR. It seems like Buell got the colors of the XBRR right, because I am now addicted to Yellow, Blue and Black! 1313 (Message edited by 1313 on March 19, 2006) |

Can you believe I'm at home doing this rather than out at the bar with the wimmens? Apparently they're thinking I'm sitting at home wearing pink womens underwear... Now tell me, could the snarling little devil in the above pics wear frilly, little, lacy, pink womens underwear??? 1313 I was just thinking that the 3%'ers started with duct tape 'stickers'...

Actually we(the 3%ers) had those made, we just placed another order as well, It might not be too late if yall would like some. Here is my new sticker. It is a material like etched glass, very cool.
By the way, I wish I could have sat on the RR but at the IMS they would not let us. (Message edited by new12r on March 24, 2006) |

New12r - Man that looks cool. We are just getting into the stickers. We final settled on an insignia for the chapter, and now we are working on magnets, stickers, and patches. Kristi took the design to a new supplier. The first one looks home made because the lady that was doing it for us did not have a laser cutter so the lines are rough. Krisit will have the second batch by Tuesday. They will be 3" stickers versus the 2" you see on the helmet. Once we have a good supplier, we will distribute the information and cost. Next we have to work on the patches and chevrons. This is cool. |

1313 - The Tuber Lives!!! I pulled out the M2 last Sunday. It is the first time the bike has been on the road this year. I fired it it once since getting the Uly back up and going since the spill. The tire striped just as I got parts for the Uly so I never changed it. The Uly was in for its 5000 mile service and I wanted to ride to church so out came the M2 striped back tire and all. The bike fired right up, no battery tender or anything else. It has to be the best starting bike I have ever owned, 42,000 miles and all. So impressed that I now have a new rear tire in the barn and will bug Dave for the Garage space to pull the tire off. I need to go ahead and start getting the M2 ready because I am thinking about the track day at Barber Motorsports the guys at Stone Mountain are putting on. While the Uly is comfy, the race track is M2 territory. |

Rubberdown - Since you've done a trackday, what would you think about the wisdom of doing one on a Blast? Its a bike with a 93 mph top speed and not a great deal of acceleration. I'd hate to be in everyones way. But then again I'm sure I'll be in someones way no matter what I'm riding. The $60 tires are certainly appealing. And if I was to wad one up, it would hurt less physically, emotionally, and financially if it was the Blast. |

93 mph top speed ??? 93 MPH? ON A BLAST??? HOW? When testing the Blast! in Arizona 80 MPH was tops. How in the world did you get one up to 93?!?! Sounds Like FUN! 1313 |

Brankin - I suspect they changed it a bit since you went to AZ. The rev limited speed, after the 2000 sprocket change, works out to 93 (or maybe 96?) mph. I've never hit the rev limiter in 5th gear, so I can't personally confirm it will go that fast, but people assure me they can hit it. Of course some of them are less massive than I: http://profiles.yahoo.com/royaldragon01 But I've certainly pushed it past 80. Kristi was laughing at me as I did it once, passing her and Carlos as I was trying to chase someone down in LaVale. |
