I would like to put a S1 single tail & seat on my 2000 M2, is this possible? are the frames the same or is the S1 shorter at the rear. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Jeff |

You'll need to do frame mods. The frames are entirely different. |

Dan's m2 was sweet. You'll need to cut, re-fab and weld the sub frame to make things line up. It's a fun project. I got help from a welder friend. I've seen some folks leave the frame alone and move the taillight into the gap between the frame and tail section. It looks alright but you still have to come up with a way to support the tail... -Mike |

I did it, here are some pics... sorry for the size but you get the idea
This is the section I felt needed to be removed
I made steel slugs to fit into these tubes...
So I could attach this, which I made from the piece I cut off.
Another view
The lower section all welded up
FIN The only thing that I do not have a pic of it the mounting tabs.... |

you CAN put a 1st generation M2 tail on the late generation M2, and get closer to the S1 look without cutting/welding -- not the same thing, bu any matter of means, but a smaller/sleeker profile |

Ok, I decided to go with the early cyclone tail at least for the short term. I picked up a tail but need a seat if anyone has one Thanks Jeff |
