With some warmer weather here in Upstate NY, I finally got out on my new XB12S, after dreaming about it for the last month. It almost looked like I wasn't going to make it out today, as I was telling my wife, it was a conspiracy. I was hoping to get on the road this morning around 11. Well that didn't pan out due to the delay.

Why the delay, you ask? Well I got out into the garage and started to get the corbin seat I got from American Sport Bike installed. After following Al's great instructions, I had it all set. I got my Bar End mirrors installed, removed the stock mirrors, plugged up the holes got them adjusted, wheeled it out and it wouldn't start. When the dealer delivered it, it was was 15 out, and when the guy started it, it wasn't really turning over so he twisted the throttle and did a very good job of fouling the plugs. I was going to go meet Yeags30 today, but without the bike in working order I was kinda bummed. I drop him an email saying they are fouled, he reminds me of the Buell Dealer in Albany. So I give them a call (45 minute drive) and make sure they have plugs, and head out. Grabbed a set of the Buell Pro-Series plugs, and drove home. Get all set to put them back in only to find out they are different size then the stock plugs : (. Had a hard time getting the stock ones out, and of course we don't have an 11/16's spark plug socket (stocks are 5/8's which we had). So send someone off to my friends shop to locate one. Finally get the new plugs in and it seems the battery has gone down enough to not turn her over. So get that charged back up, turn her on, and she comes to life. Little rough at first, but after letting her warm up (While I ran upstairs to get my gear on), she was all set.

So after all the obstacles that where thrown at me, I finally got to ride, left around 3:30ish. And just hung around the back roads here (break in is always rough).

Even following the break in, in the manual I have only 2 words to describe the 80 or so mile ride I went on today. "F***ing Awesome". I can't wait to make it past break-in and to really see what she is capable of. Also have a couple more tweaks to do with the suspension, but I have to say I am hooked... (and a little chilly, was just staring to be able to see my breath when I got home).

I remember winter...Don't miss it. It's 8:00pm and still 75 degrees here. Not that I'm rubbing it in or anything.

Doon, I feel the same way, just turned over 525 miles on my XB12Ss and it just keeps getting better. Be patient, break it in per the manual, then let it rip. Your right, I agree its Awesome and I'll add loads of Fun.
