What happened to Cicotto? I didn't see him in the last round of standings? They have a live feed with constantly updating standings, in case you don't get speed vision. http://206.168.146.114/liveresultsindex.html |

now that we are over the first hurdle ( well I guess we tripped over it ) hopefully the nerves, hype, hoopla, etc. will be gone and the next races will be a true showing of what Buell can do. McWilliams had a great qualifying effort and was running great (top 10) for half the race. Buell can compete, with a little luck we may even be able to challenge in the upcoming races the rest of the year. (Message edited by Xbrad9r on March 11, 2006) |

Totally, entirely inexusable. After Picotte's disaster, they should have been practicing pit stops all day, 5 days a week since the concept was approved. Embarrassing. This race does a lot for the Buell name doesn't it?

cuell,I couldn't agree more.Maybe the ZTL isn't as much of an advantage as certain ppl want us to believe. |

I would think when the bike fell of the stand with the wheel loose is when the brake got messed up. You could see him test it on the way out of the pits. |

Seems like McWilliams first stop went pretty smoothly- no problems with the ZTL brake at all. Then #2 turned into a CF. His crew looked like they had been jogging around the track or something. |

If thats what cooked one of the bikes it would seem like it certainly needs work. Cicotto went out early, so I assume that was motor, but I haven't the foggiest about the other 3's terminal issues. Issues come up when you have 150 horses on tap in their first race, but the pitstop thing is so frustrating because I think it was poor training/preparation. That could have been simulated enough to make it smooth. And its not Monday morning quarterbacking, because it was a bunch of weekend warriors in the pits that killed the last competitive Harley at Daytona. Zero finished. After all the crap said around here in the last month that is truly embarrassing. |

CHOKE. McWilliams' pit crew was an absolute joke. That one jackass on the front stand raised his hands twice as if to say "Duh...What do I do?" |

Same thing with Picotte. Looked like a bunch of hobbyists. You'd think they would have learned. Maybe this is all just Buell "holding back" Don't want to show em our hand and all that - |

I think the bike itself showed it can compete. And obviously McWilliams can compete on it. They just need to get their pit crew up and running. It's a private team, right? Not "officially" affiliated with the company? So it's not directly Buell's fault, although I'm sure they worked closely for this race. I could see if the pit crew had never changed a Buell wheel before, but, come on. Those poor guys must be hating life right now. We can't let this be too disappointed, or get us down. Expecting to win on the first time out was very optimistic. Although, finishing would have been nice. There's a whole season ahead of us. We gotta just look forward to the next one. |

Yessir - I am looking forward to the next race. Fresh start, no pits stops. It is a capable bike to be sure. We gotta earn some pride back . . And I do feel bad for Eric and whoever else was behind this. I'm frustrated, but they must be bummin. Oh well. Time marches on. |
