Thanks guys.

2d, yeah, those darn plates. At least we don't need inspection stickers down here too.

Jesse, The pulley guard took me 10 mins to install. It was around 150 bucks from Trojan. It comes in natural too. RRC makes a nice one as well, and that one you can order polished..a few buck more though, also from Trojan.

Rearsets from Trojan were around $445. All prices are US after exchange rate applied.

I guess I'm missing something here. The whole point of the XB12Ss is to have a Buell with a saddle designed for a normal human being. Why on earth would you go through all that trouble and expense to put that MISERABLE standard saddle back on??

That normal human being thing isn't everything it is cracked up to be.

Trust me.

I'm lost myself. Why not just buy a XB12S? Now you have a small seat with the not as sharp handling long wheelbase. I just don't see the point. Don't get me wrong, the bike looks fine. I just don't get it.

BTW you guys have to admit how funny it is that when someone posts a picture of a standard XB with a stretched swingarm, even if it's a couple of inches, it is beaten to a bloody pulp. But somehow this is different and it's wonderful.

There are a few advantages here, the new trans, larger fuel cap, longer wheel base...I like it...

Why is the longer wheel base a advantage???

Jesse, sorry. It was in stock, so not long...week or so.

For those of you that get it, thanks again.

Dana, a longer wheelbase is generally an advantage when trying to minimize e.t.(see drag bikes) It will help a bit I'm sure when I throw a 90incher in there. But why does there have to be an advantage anyway? Not all mods provide clear advantages...some are strictly cosmetic...like say custom paint jobs, or mig lights...etc.

But the main reason I did it... is because I can and now nobody else has a bike like mine!!! Isn't that reason enough?

Dude,
That is an awesome job. That is some super clean work. Your bike is schweeet! "I get it."
For all of you naysayers out there...Shut The F Up! I don't like/understand a lot of the mods people do to there Buells or other bikes for that matter...but it's there's, so oh wells.

I don't see any naysayers here. Tommy looks great. I guess what I was getting at was in comparison to a regular wheel based XB. At the track that little bit is just not alot when trying to launch these Torqey bikes. My old S1 was not easy to launch and that was more in the lines of your bikes wheel base. I didn't want you to take offense to what I had typed. It looks great bud.

One other question. what did you use to coat your header with? And is it lasting?

Thanks

It's all good fellas...

Willie, I painted them with 1500* header paint. It's working out great for me...I have 06 textured headers. Others have tried though with mixed success. Give it a shot...if it flakes out, pull em and coat em.
