Has anyone used those $5.99 CD Service Manuals sold on eBay? |

Yes I have used them. They will help get the job done but they in no way measure up to the actual manual. They are just scanned pages and some pages are better quality then others. The CD is not very user friendly or fun to navigate like a truly produced instruction pdf should be. Do yourself a big favor and spend the extra money and get the real deal. Just my opinion of course. |

As a personal aside, I have a lot of friends in Tech Pubs who make their living researching and preparing what is arguably one of the best vehicle service manuals made. I fail to be able to differentiate between buy the knock off CD and stealing. Matter of personal opinion and integrity I suppose. |

if the tech writers don't get paid, they will go elsewhere -- HD/Buell has the best vehicle manuals in any industry -- award-winning and all that, but very useable, as well, with a minimum of lawyer-influanced nonesense in em . . . . . . Buy the Book! |

That said, I would love to be able to *buy* an offishul Buell Manual and Parts book on CD - preferably in search-able .pdf format. Both for quick reference, and to be able to get a good print of parts diagrams and procedures to hang on the garage wall when I'm working on something. That, and printed manuals being spiral bound. That'd be nice and well worth the extra $$. Henrik |

I know Daves would love to sell you a real manual that you can actually read. Call Dave Stueve at (920) 757-1651. Ask for Dave in sales |

DEFINETELY WHAT HENRIK SAID!!! Another nice feature of that would be the ability to blow it up and print it so I could see it-I'm finding that now that I need glasses (I HATE getting older!!!) that it is getting tougher to read a book and then jump back to the bike. I also agree with Courts comments, and would certainly not object and would happily agree to paying an additional price to have a searchable, printable CD. JP |
