I need to place this here for the purpose of verification at a later date. Quote of SO: "You know, when we pay off the home equity line of credit, the Ulysses is yours." I love my wife. Any and all cash donations graciously and gratefully accepted. Steve |

Hi Steve: Actually, the home equity line is a good way to write off the interest on a financed purchase. Since normal vehicle loans are not tax deductible, doing it with an equity line loan is a much better way, not to mention it is probably a lower interest rate depending on your mortgage company. See... Instant Gratification and a deduction too!! Doug |

Pbransonii - I never get rid of any bike, it's almost pathological LOL. The Uly stil wouldn't have the weather protection of the Connie. Ka5ysy - absolutely...we've financed our vehicles ourselves with the line of credit. And up until the last year, the interest rate was very low. The interest rate has been climbing and we are ready to make a serious effort at paying off the balance. It'll take some time though. |

Why is your name Crusty, when your name is John? When I registered for this forum, the name John was taken. Since my beat friend always referred to me as a "Crusty old fart" I took that as my user name. When I wanted a new bike, my wife suggested we refinance the mortgage. We got a lower interest rate, and enough to buy my Uly, a new roof for the house, new siding for the house, and enough cash left over to take three weeks to ride to Montana and Idaho this summer! |
