Does anybody know of anyone, anywhere who makes a set of crashbars (they are called "engine guards" nowdays) for the Blast? I have been looking for 4 years now and just missed out on what I think? was a homemade one on eBay. It did not look too bad, although I did not win the bid and my fabrication skills are not up to making one. I am accustomed to having one from way back, and even though I have never "needed" it (as in bike fall over) I just feel safer seeing it down there.

The regular footpeg frames are great for just that.

Hello EZ. I know most Buell riders would not ever consider anything as "sissy" as crashbars. My main concern is not cornering angle (with the way these things eat rear tires, I wear them down the the cord, and don't even consider leaning over very far the last 1,000 miles or so of tire left, that is always on my mind) or "handling thru the twisties" but my safety and possible cosmetic damage to the bike just in case. I feel better looking down at a crashbar and at 51, my "sport riding" days were over 20 years ago.

LOL - thats not what I'm saying - really the peg hangers on the stock Blasts are really designed with crashing in mind - the stock exhaust guards also, and the wide handlebars do as well - they are what usually takes the brunt of drops - experience speaking from multiple times - lol - the Black bike had over eight drops on it and Scott is using that pair because they had the newly put on pegs, the red pair had 3 drops and only showed a few less scratches than the Black - I figure previous owners had droped it also a few times - lol - occasionally you also replace a shifter and or clutch cable, usually just mirror, and/or signal - cosmetics - the Blast for its faults is also one of HD's most durable designs because it was made with the beginner in mind! - lol -

Really, EZ's not kidding! the stock footpeg y-frames are the crashbars and I too know and have seen from experience that the engine is well guarded by them. Adding crash bars to the engine may prove more harmful than protective.
Also, a set of Blast saddlebags serve well as additional protection.
The toe peg is available separately and is designed to bend (rather than the shifter arm) and the footpegs are $5 each!
