Biased opinion...D&D. If I had to buy a pipe again today, I would get the same one I have. Pretty darn happy with it. |

LOL Low, we all break the law everyday, we just never get caught. If I end up getting a new pipe, I think I will go with the Micron. It seems to be getting some really great reviews and it is the pipe they used for the Direct Link testing on a stock Uly and got over 100rwhp from it. That is a big gain. Welcome to the sickness Sau. Check out the classifieds here, also last year in Columbia, MO there was a brand new X1W. Yes a white lighting, if it is still there you might be able to get a great deal on a new X1, give them a call and see if they still have it. Mid America is the dealership (573) 875-4444. |

I think Drake is the only one running a race ecm, Sam has a PCIII, the rest of us just use the stock ecm. The Direct Link that will be available from DaveS or AL at American Sport Bike works best with the stock ECM. JJ, Larry, Jim/Joan, Lowflyer and I are running modified stock exhausts that we did ourselves. They are loud, JJ's is probably louder then the D&D. We took a 4K mile trip last summer and had no problems. Dustin and James have the Jardine, JJ has a Jardine for sale also. Zeus has some tuber exhaust. Fester has staight pipes (Buell Chopper). Warren has the Drummer SS, and he really likes it, not sure if he is running a race ECM. We do have quite the diverse selection of exhausts so you'll just have to come ride with us and then decide. They are a strain on your ears but when traveling long distances we either have ear plugs or we have headphones for our mp3 players or satelite raido, this works great for drowning out the exhaust note. Also the great thing is all the cars around you know you are there and if the don't a quick blip of the throttle will remind them. Not sure how loud the Micron is since no one around here has one. I think if I had $500 to spend I would go for the Micron also. It is a sweet looking exhaust and they've gotten some great power numbers across the entire rev range with it. When Al first got them they were only $600 as a trial run, but they are $799 now. Plus the directlink for the stock ECM is already done for the Micron. If you picked up the exhaust for $799 and I think the direct link is around $250 you could be putting out 100 rwhp! Since the directlink remaps everything for you there won't even be any flat spots or anything. Of course, you'll be able to get the direct link for everything else shortly and you can spend a lot less on the pipe. $799 for a full header and pipe system doesn't seem so bad when the D&D pipe only is $550 and the Drummer is also over $500 for just the pipe. I think everyone would agree that the race kit is at the low end of bang for the buck and the Jardine is at the high end and everything else is kind of in the middle. You could get the directlink and a Jardine for the $500 and be done with it if you went that route. |

I would have to say, that some straight pipes would be the best. LOL Quiet, stylish and oh so easy on the ears on a long ride. You barely hear mine running, if are say next to a jet engine ar the same time. Oh yes almost forgot the folks in the Plaza love them as well. I think I may have the wife, convinced to either let be buy another MCWORX frame or another Buell. Think I may start looking for a 96-98 tuber to customize and play with since I have a few extra parts or an XB. Anyone ever seen a tuber with a 240, chain drive, and 1250 kit? Could be intersting. PS: Anyone looking for a slightly modified f-250?? (Wife wants a jeep now) |

Check this out. I'm confused. I don't know what this guy was trying to do, but I don't think he accomplished it. Now this is bastardizing a Buell! I like the black frame, and he even has the fork, bases and triple trees painted black, but the rest of it is terrible. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-buell-firebolt-12r_W0QQitemZ4613937227QQcate goryZ49984QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (Message edited by Olinxb12r on February 16, 2006) |

I think that both of the ones I found are for the rider. I didn't see any for the passenger. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-Black-Heel-Protector-Kit_W0QQitemZ455240329 4QQcategoryZ35565QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

So I spent about $130 on ebay today. I got that set of front and rear bearings for $50, a new chrome lower belt guard for $50 (my last one fell off), the chrome sprocket bolts for $20, and a cool Buell sticker for my car for $7. I'm pretty stoked. Now I just need to get my wheels off, tires off, bearings pressed out and everything sent to powdercoating. |

Sounds like a good price on the bearings, we paid $20 for two sets of bearings on a no reserve auction. I think this could be a good weekend to get those rims taken apart weather wise. |

Looks good Tim. Is that the standard height smoke windscreen? I'm looking at the double bubble smoke windscreen on ebay, or from Dave if the price gets within 10 dollars. Sam can I borrow your front stand? I'll have it for the amount of time it takes the powdercoater to get my wheels back to me. I'll also get those covers off while I'm working on it. Will someone with a truck to take me over to Sam's? Man I'm needy. |

Hey James, be sure and leave your old bearings in your wheels while they are being powdercoated. You might wanna put tape over them, so they wont be too hard to get out after powdercoating... |

I love the way the black wheels look on our XB's, especially on the front. Tim, your bike came out a lot better than I thought, looks pretty tough...now maybe you can call IT the rumblebee, since you got rid of your other dodge... (Message edited by duff24 on February 17, 2006) |

Hello KCLW! I’ve been busy as hell, but I thought it was time to check out what was happening with everyone. I saw the pics of Larry and Tim’s bikes... very nice. What is all that stuff on you handlebars, Larry? My bike made the move mostly unscathed. They ripped one of my blinkers clean off and busted two more. They also scratched the windscreen. All of my stuff was insured by the Bureau, but who knows how long it will take them to file all of the proper paperwork. I have to park my bike in my kitchen because I live in a crappy part of town and it would be vandalized or stolen in about 9 minutes. The mirrors won’t make it through the door jams so I have been riding with out them for now. I need to figure a quick release system out, or just remove the adapters Sam invented. Work is starting to shape up, but I’m still learning. Tim, good luck with the application process… my packet got lost between KC and DC. They are also out of class dates until October. By the time I leave for training, you may be ready to go! Definitely let me know if you are going to resubmit, I’ll give you the skinny on training. I rode to work for the first time today. It was also the first time I’d been in an underground parking garage. That Supertrap is loud as $h!it down there. I think I set off about 20 car alarms. I met a guy last week that rides with a group of various bikes (no Buells of course). Can’t seem to find a crew like KCLW out here and I don’t know my way to the good roads yet, but I’m itching to get back out and ride. Rob |

Rob sounds like all is well. Good luck with your training and everything else you have going on. Hey Larry, When can I come by on Sunday. I don't want to do any of the painting since it is going to be so cold, but I figure I can get my wheels off and get everything ready to pull my cases. Maybe we will have decent day between now and when the guy gets done with my wheels to paint the front end, but I'll pull the cases whenever Sam is ready for me to bring them over to trade. Let me know when on Sunday. Sam let me know when you want me to bring my case covers over. I could pull them off on Sunday if you have the time to pull yours off. Let me know. |
