You can strap the bike up to the rafters if you take off your muffler. |

It don't get any more country than this, does it? This shows my "wooden jack" under the front jacking point of the muffler. The bike is steadied from falling over by the rear stand. To adapt this system for rear wheel removal you need to put the wood under the rear jacking point, and tie the front of the bike down so it won't fall over. A couple of tie downs to stakes in the ground should work. Here is how the wood jack system works. 1. Steal the wood: 2x6s are good. 2. put three short pieces under the rear of the muffler. 3. take a 4 or 5 foot piece of wood, and slowly lever the bike of the ground. 4. Get your girlfriend to slip a fourth 2x6 under the bike, while you ease the lever down. 5. Make sure you dispose of the wood in an environmentally friendly fashion, like throwing it into your wood stove:-) Be careful, OK? |

I have a motorcycle jack that I used when I pulled my swingarm off to powder coat it. Jacked it up from the jack points...worked fine. They sell for around $100. You could always do what gentleman_jon suggested. That will work too |
