I want to institute an ECM core program for the DirectLink Mapping tool, so that I can send people remapped ECMs PRIOR to them sending me their ECM for programming. In order to do so, I need to get a bunch of stock ECMs. They must be ECMs that worked fine when you took them off the bike before. I can run a few basic tests on them here to confirm goodness, so I think I can make a working core exchange program if I can get the ECMs at a reasonable price to begin with. So, if you have a stock ECM that you don't need because you are running a race ECM, I would be interested in buying yours. Send me mail at sales-at-americansportbike-dot-com with which ECM you have and how much you want for it. Thanks, Al |

I'm not sure what the going rate is. A stock XB12 ECM just went for $38 on ebay. Several tube frame ECMs have gone for $10 or less, some don't even get bids. I'm thinking stock XB ECMs should be $50 or less, stock tubers $40 or less. But I haven't studied what the market is other than a quick ebay search. Al |

Tim, Heck yes they should have given you your stock ECM back, unless they gave you a discount on the race ECM so that they could keep yours (doubtful). They should have given you your stock pipe too! Donnie, At the moment, I don't even have a D&D map, so stay tuned on that. Any remap requires the purchase of a $249 key in order to talk to the ECM, there isn't any way around that, the SW won't work without the key that gets locked to the ECM on first read. I'm certainly willing to discount the map by the fair trade value of the ECM. |

I'm thinking $20 for a 99 tube frame ECM, $25 for a 2000 or newer is probably about right based on the data I'm seeing. But hold off for a moment. We have some testing to do with tube frame bikes that needs to be completed prior to me kicking off the core exchange on those. And until we get some maps for the tube frame bikes, it's kinda moot anyway. But XB ECMs are definitely needed now, so I'll give $50 for those for anyone that wants to part with theirs. That price will change depending upon response. For instance, if I get 6 03XB9 ECMs, I'll offer less for any beyond that. Thanks, Al |
