Kansas City Steaks? your not a vegetarianianian are ya? Note: I am going to bring some local dealership T-shirts in Large and X-large, If someone would like to have a Kansas City Dealership T-shirt, bring me one from your house of worship. (kind of an exchange program of sorts) |

Only one other Buell rider...Man...Look through the Bad web...there are lots of other Buellers here and I have seen some in your area. March Badness is in the mountains of Georgia. Our Group isn't coming down until the second weekend for the Daytona 200 race. But I can see by your profile you are a chopper pilot, maybe this road stuff is too boring for you...wish I had a chopper to fly... |

I actually get more of a thrill riding the Buell than flying the helo. I've been flying them since Viet Nam, so it's like a job. Been riding bikes for about 25 years and sold my last Harley to buy the Buell (wife wouldn't let me have both). I know there are some guys here locally, but I never see them on the road. Hopefully that will change soon. Also I didn't realize Roebling Road is still open and advanced classes are being presented a couple times a year. I've decided to ride my Lightning for the first weekend and the race on Saturday. I'm anxious to meet the other Buellers and get more insight into Buell. |

I have some bad news to report. Nick's (Vegasbueller's) lady just called to inform me that Nick was in a bad motorcycle accident today. A car pulled out right in front of him, sending him into a violent collision then up and over the handlebars. If I got the report right, he is stable and talking, no mention of any paralysis, but he has fractured vertebra, broken hip, broken leg, broken shoulders, and broken ribs. Stupid me didn't get the hospital name, but Sammie will be getting back with an update and I'll be sure to get all the pertinent info. Current estimate is that Nick will be able to go home after a week's stay in the hospital. Stay tuned. God bless Nick. (Message edited by blake on February 15, 2006) |

Hi, this is Sammie, Nick's wife, here's what I know so far. Both of Nick's shoulders are broken, the right is to heal on it's own, the left will be operated on tomorrow afternoon along with his right hip/leg. It's actually the femur bone just under the hip that's broken. So some call it hip, some leg. Sorry about the confusion, Blake. He has several broken ribs, I know of 3 for sure but was told there are more. His spleen was damaged, though I don't know how badly yet. His kidneys are very bruised and if this isn't enough... his spine is fractured all the way down his back. They will be putting him in a "turtle" brace for it. The earliest he will be coming home will be a week. When he feels better I will dictate messages from him here. There's no point in calling him at the hospital, he can't answer the phone and will probably be on a lot of pain meds for a while. When he gets home, hopefully he'll be a bit better, you guys can call and I'll hold the phone for him. Nick is in sooo much pain, it just breaks my heart. I really appreciate all the offers of help, as I know Nick does. He's on quite a bit of Morphine right now, so isn't aware of everything going on all the time. I will tell him about all of your well wishes though. It'll mean so much to him. He's very upset about not being able to do the big BarB-Q party and feels like he let you all down. I've assured him that isn't the case, but if any of you really know Nick at all, you know he's got a great big heart and would do anything not to disappoint a friend. If any of you want to send him a card, you can send it to the house address. I'm sure you'd prefer sending them to the hospital, but I am going to have my hands very full just getting him home. I'm sure you all understand. I'm not even sure how I'm going to do that yet. He obviously can't climb up into my SUV. I'm sure I'm blabbering by now...sorry.. it's almost 3AM and I've been home almost an hour now, and wanted you guys to have the update. I will be back at the hospital by 8AM, so the next update will have to come tomorrow night. I know that several of you sent money for the BarB-Q, I will get that all figured out as soon as I can and make sure you get your money back. I wish I could say that we could still have the party... however, I am sure that Nick would love for any of you that want to, to stop by and visit with him. The guys at work have his bike and I was told that there wasn't big damage to it. Both tail lights are broken, a mirror and the front brake grip/handle. His helmet and armored jacket saved his life and I am so thankful that he always wears them. I'll write again when I get home tomorrow night. |

Sammie: Thanks for the update and may I, for all us us, beg you to do nothing but concentrate on getting King Nick all fixulated and properly repairisized. Please tell him his Badweb buddies will be stopping by for a visit, I even have a vision of a Buell Parade down the street with Nick as the reviewer sitting there in his "turtle cast". We''l sort out , over the next day or two, how to modify plans to make certain Nick gets to see all his visiting friends while getting some of the chores lifted from his healing shoulders. I am very sorry this happen and please know that we are thinking of you and Nick and praying for the speediest of recoveries. Court |

Tell Nick that we are rooting for him to break out of that "turtle shell" and make a speedy recovery. The rest of us are just thankful he will be ok. As for everything else you tell him not to worry as we are Badwebbers...At least now you won't be finding confetti months from now in the most un-likely places. Sammie you take care of yourself and remember to get some rest yourself, Nick will need you strong. The rest of us will be here to support you both and be praying for you. Sammie - we are praying for Nick and his recovery. As Zxzer04 says, take care of yourself as well. It's hard not to carry to world on your shoulders when it comes to your family, but accept help when it's offered and ask when you need it. Please keep us posted on his condition. You have tons of people here on BadWeb praying for both of you. God Bless, Kristi |

I was shocked and dismayed this morning upon opening my email and seeing this. Darn "cages". VegasBueller was the first guy to write me here and I'm saddened. Just really glad he was wearing a helmet in a non-helmet state. I for one will definitely stop by during Bike Week. Best wishes for a rapid recovery. |
