So anybody got an opinion on $210 for powdercoating? I think it sounds pretty high especially since I'm going to have to pay for the bearings and taking the tire on and off. $210 for the ceramic coating is pretty expensive too. I think it is $170 from Al, but I'm sure with shipping it would probably work out to be about the same. Hey Time, how much do you think you paid to get your wheels done after the coating and everything else? |

I think Roger's facility in Ottawa is more friendly to the Hot Rod and custom type customers. Olathe is much more of a production type coating facility. |

I got mine done for about $80 for just the powdercoating, and I think Tim and Larry got them done for a little cheaper than that cause they took a bunch of other stuff in also. I don't think any of us have had any trouble with our wheels being the wrong color or messed up or anything, the other pieces were all screwed up tho. |

Our wheels where around $100 for the pair and then another $100 for the bearings, mounting and balancing the tires. Kccoatings quoted me around $100 but also said he couldn't give an accurate quote without seeing the items. He also quoted me around $120 to do ceramic coating on the headers but said he would have to see them first to give an accurate one. I think Central can sand blast them for you so talk with Zeus about what that would cost and then have kccoatings powder coat them. Nothing is as cheap as it seems it should be and I will never take anything back to Rogers. They tried to ship our parts to some guy named Rocky and had to redo the parts multiple times. Also they quoted me $15 dollars for a part and then charged me $40 for it. I think you would be more pleased with kccoatings, it may cost a little more but I think it will be worth it in the end, plus he can do some many different colors and combo's. Duff have you even got your part back yet, they probably lost it. (Message edited by thansesxb9rs on February 08, 2006) |

No I haven't had time to go pick it up. I showed up on Monday thinkin it was done (as all yours and larry's parts were done on friday), but he said he hadn't seen it (done). Hopefully this doesn't mean he hasn't seen it because they sent it to somebody else, doh! But he said they would call me when it's ready...yeah right. I gotta call them tomorrow and see WTF is up. |

Finally got my front rim balanced today, I had balanced it myself so I thought it would be off, because of the front end wanting to shake at high speeds. Turns out it was only like a quarter ounce off. I was actually kinda disappointed cause I was hoping that would solve the problem but I don't think that little of weight would make that much difference. |

Duff, just a thought, STOP slam that sumbitch down at high speeds. Aluminum wheel & hollow axle soft, pavement hard, now bikes got a vibration. Huummmm, I wonder?!? |

I sent him some pictures of my header and wheels so he could get a better idea of what he would be working with. He gave me the quote after taking a look at them. He seems like a really good guy to deal with, but I'm more price driven on this purchase than I would be normally. Thanks for the thoughts boys. |

That Challenger is sweet! I really like the way it looks like the old school, but it is still very modern at the same time. To bad Chevy had a near miss with the Camaro concept. If they flaten out the front and change the rear a little I think the new Camaro will be a homerun as well. Bring back the Pony Car Wars! More Horsepower, More Speed=More Fun! Yeah, that was just some guys guess of what it might look like. I like the overall look of the actual prototype better than that one, but sort of like that. The basically just need to take the point out of the front of the prototype, and work on the back of the car a little. |

No Duff, it doesn't have a Hemi, but it does have the 500 horsepower Vette Zo6 motor and tranny in it. That isn't to bad if you ask me. I bet the Hemi doesn't have 500 horsepower. |

Hey all, Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I talked to Tim the other day and he told me about the group. I live in KC, MO and have been riding a buell for the past year. I originally had an 03 XB9S but it was ripped off from my apartment exactly 2 weeks before I moved into my house where I would have a garage for it (That Sucked!!)! But all is well insurance gave me a great price on it and I have replaced it with a brand new (04) XB12R...So all worked out. I originally contacted Tim for some information on how to put a new powder coat on my orange wheels (which looks like a common theme here in KC). I look forward to riding here as soon as it gets a little nicer. I'll try to stay in touch and hopefully meet up with you all some time. Talk to you soon, Erik P.S. I hope that I don't ask or say anything stupid I've had motorcycles before but this is my first year of Buell ownership. |

Erik, welcome to the madness....You definitely need to hook up with us when it warms up...Last year we were doing Friday night rides as a big group...and Saturday thru Thursday rides with whoever could make it...Don't worry about asking anything dumb on this site...we might make fun of ya, but it will only be in fun...Check in on this forum cuz we get together for other than ride activities as well.... Larry James, sorry I didn't get back to ya, but Dahlia has been sick, and we are kinda in limbo tryin' to figure out what is wrong...(tumor on her liver) cancer or not? Anyways...I have my nephews B-Day party this Sat., but am pretty sure I'm free Sunday...You need to get in touch with Sam...Tim returned the front stand after he finished his rims... Larry |

Eric, Nothing you say could be too stupid. We were all "green" at one point and a lot of us still are. I have been riding on the street for just over a year now and was fortunate enough to start out on a Buell. Boy am I glad too...I don't know how you could possibly have any more fun on a motorcycle than the joy Buell motorcycles have brought me. I don't know what it is, but the type of people that ride Buells really fit my personality. Over the past year I have had some epic adventures and met some of the nicest people in my life. We have a good time, needless to say. I think I might have passed you once on Phlumm in Overland Park/Olathe. It was a red XB12R with a bag or helmet on the back. I was riding my XB9SX with my neighbor who has a yellow Ducati Monster. Was that you? (It was a couple of months ago) Anyways, welcome and we look forward to nicer weather so we can all meet up.
