Man that looks good! I really like it, but I wouldn't want to take care of it. I think I'll still go black powdercoat since it is about 1/3 of the cost and way less work. Post pics if you get it done Pepi. |

I don't know which takes less work...I agree with Olin...Black powder coat is the way to go...The bike above is from a dealership here in KC...This is mine..

omg, you guys think the chrome would be hard to keep care of!? Nuts! I disagree, I would rather clean chrome than all the brake dust and dust on the black... I would like to dip mine, but as said before it is expensive to get them chrome dipped. |

Dmextreme, Are you tellin' me that chrome hides the black brake dust and road dust better than a black wheel? |

nah, just saying it is allot more shiny with chrome rather than the dull the black gets with all the dust. :-P Personal Preference i reckon! |

You know what they say about chrome shops; you get three choices - 1)fast 2)cheap 3)good, but you only get 2 of the 3 choices.![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/riding.gif) |

if you get your rims powder coated flat black you will never see the brake dust on them. it works really good for me.

My dad works at a chrome plating shop, and he gave me a website for a company that they use for wheels. I checked the price list and they quote $220 per wheel plus shipping, which varies by where you are. I think it said $43-$52 for two motorcycle wheels. The here is the website: www.chroming.com. My dad said the quality is excellent, and he's been doing custom chrome plating for almost 30 years so he's a reliable source (they are one of the top plating shops in the country). He said he may be able to get a discount if they are shipped through his shop. If you PM me I can find out for sure. Schmitty |

I have to say that I have had chrome in the past, on my last bike the wheels were. I can say that it only took about 2 minutes to wipe them down, I would do it about twice a week. |

One thing to consider - chroming the wheels will add a fair bit of unsprung weight which will effect the handling if you like to push it a little bit. A big advantage to polishing. Can't you get chrome looking powder coat these days as well? Might be lighter but I don't know. Parry |
