Jim, Some clarification may be in order. It is confusing as heck, even for me still. Texas World Speedway (TWS) is the place I too understood to be the location of an upcoming Buell team testing effort. TWS is in College Station, Texas. Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) is the NASCAR and Indy Car track north of Fort Worth, Texas. Lap times at TWS unless the track configuration they run is one used by the CMRA will give us no idea of relative performance versus the competition. BTW, the TMS web site is a product of one of our very own esteemed BadWeBrs, the Dago man. Nice work Dago! |

Tire wear? I was under the impression that V-Twins were harder on tires due to the power pulses of the motor. Am i on crack? |

nope twins are easier on tires. theoretically because there is time between the pulses for the tire to recover traction.....or some such. |

Blake, I was confused by the two places myself. It looks like it will be TWS because that is what 3 sources say it is. Jim |

Mike, You are most assuredly not on crack. Not sure about the tire thing though. |

Thanks, Jen for your informative posts. Really contributes to my comprehension and I'm sure others as well. |

As soon as anyone finds out about the testing in Texas give us the results; I'm really interested in the top speed of this bike; it will give us all an indication of the power available throughout the entire rev range. Lets all hope it's in excess of 175 mph if not it's gonna be a hard row to hoe, infield or not. GO BUELL!!! |

I believe Diablobrian is right. Think about "big bang" 4 cylinder engines. I think the Buell XBRR fits the big bang label rather well. |

Hey, Blake, it's been a while since you seen me...i dropped a few pounds, but not cause of smokin the crack. I took a layoff from work, and started my own electrical contracting company. It's fun! I even have my very own bucket truck! But back to the subject, yeah, i was kinda asss backwards... I remember tire wear being an issue with either the IL4's, or Vtwins...just couldn't figure out which way it went. But man, Buell is on the right track with the RR. Just make one for the street with 140hp, and i'm so there. |

Mike, Great to hear you are doing well and having fun. Post a pic of the truck please. Down here in redneck country, the definition of a "bucket truck" might-can probably fit several different forms of truck. Just wanna be clear on which you are talking about. For instance, my neighbor has him a "bucket truck"; he keeps a small bucket on the center console for spittin' into. He's a real life Skoal brother. You don't want to get caught riding shotgun just prior to bucket emptying day. The left turns can get real nasty. On the tire thing, I know the twins are supposed to get better drive due to their less frequent power pulses. Didn't know anything about the tire wear though. I'm really quite ignorant. |

Court, regarding yesterdays post. I'd like to offer my apologies for my rudeness. I was somewhat over the top. As far as I'm concerned though, and my apology still stands, I can't accept that you are not without some blame. Either way, that matters not if we both knock our heads together. Without going into detail here, as if we need to, I do accept that you have your corner to stand in, and I should respect that. Not that it's likely we are ever going to agree on the subject matter, I see no reason why this should become anymore bitter than it already has. The last time you and I clashed, I called you and apologized then too. Might I suggest that you call me 07711900016 or mail me seanpepper@gmail.com, and let's see if we can resolve what we have into some kind of friendship. That's if you're interested. I know you're a good man with the best intentions for all at heart, and I realize your passion for things Buell plays a huge part in you being that person within the BadWeB community. Truce please? At the track I have watched the difference between the number of tires we go through in a weekend versus our friends running IL4s. We can usually get through the weekend of racing (2 sprints and a 25 min race + practice sessions) and the track day before the races on 1 1/2 pairs of tires. the IL4 guys going at the same pace burn up a pair of tires a day, even on the 600s. They carry a load of tires marked up with the number of practice and race laps on the different pairs. we just keep track of how many days we have on ours. The 2 stroke 125 & 250 bikes are really easy on tires. The SV suzukis are a little easier on the tires, but not much. |

I can 100% guarantee you that they are not at Texas Motor Speedway. (Thanks, Blake.) |
