well i havent jacked the bike up yet and checked to see how well my front free wheels, but sure seems like the front brake is dragging. can just hear it and it doesnt coast very easy compared to my other xb. just curious if anyone knows how to loosen up the caliper alittle. brake works great so i cant really think it would need to be bled or something and it doesnt pulse like a warped rotor. its just a constant dragging feeling and sound that is different from my other one. | ||

Is it a stock brake lever? If the lever itself is pressing against the plunger, it will drag and depending on how much it is pressing can actually lock up the brake after riding abit. The other thing could be that the caliper needs to be rebuilt because the piston is seized which is not allowing it to retract like its suppossed to. | ||

i think it's the stock one. looks like it and was on it when i bought it, although i bought it used so... i am going to take a closer look at it today and see if i can figure out whats up. thanks for the advice wycked | ||

Squeeze the brake lever and then bungee cord it. Then clean pistons by spraying with brake cleaner. Should solve your problem. The pistons are just gummed up with brake pad dust/sludge. I have had to do this maybe once a year on my X1. Frank |
